@mrRhwalden There is a sticker on the front of the truck that states you cannot advance the ignition timing. Government Motors says the timing is computer controlled, but I am sure if I had the right tools I could advance the timing somehow.
yea its true my 93 cgm searri 2500 4x4 only hits about 60mph with foot to floor i think this my be why how do i fix it i have a 5.7 350 same tbi system as shown need help
A few years back, I was working on my 1994 Suburban, and had a few beers in me.
I changed the fuel filter and put it on backwards. The truck ran fine, and I had no idea what happened until the next time I changed the filter. Almost crapped my pants.
It's not good to run with the air cleaner off, though not exclusively for the reasons you cite...without that air cleaner in place, there is no protection from a backfire/flameout. In the future, you might mention what "PCM" stands for and how it drives the injectors. :-)

Why does smoke come out of the throttle body when you open it after you shut down the engine?

ive got my fingers a couple of times on the blades on the alternator and on the fan not good feeling at all
