  • Nice Vid. Now, can you advance ignition timing on these engines?

  • @mrRhwalden There is a sticker on the front of the truck that states you cannot advance the ignition timing. Government Motors says the timing is computer controlled, but I am sure if I had the right tools I could advance the timing somehow.

  • yea its true my 93 cgm searri 2500 4x4 only hits about 60mph with foot to floor i think this my be why how do i fix it i have a 5.7 350 same tbi system as shown need help

  • @pilotryver Can you make a video of this? Sorry about taking so long too reply to you.

  • Why does smoke come out of the throttle body when you open it after you shut down the engine?

  • @racedriver52

I was wondering that myself! I've been curious if it's just fuel vapor and if a lighter would prove it

  • @racedriver52 Unburnt hydrocarbons and a little bit of exhaust.

  • Wow, I have never seen those injectors in action. Pretty cool!

Seems like a fairly simple design too, easy to work on Id think.

  • That doesn't look like a Hendrickson to me.

  • Good video - never saw the jets in action with the cover off before!

  • A few years back, I was working on my 1994 Suburban, and had a few beers in me.

I changed the fuel filter and put it on backwards. The truck ran fine, and I had no idea what happened until the next time I changed the filter. Almost crapped my pants.

  • It's not good to run with the air cleaner off, though not exclusively for the reasons you cite...without that air cleaner in place, there is no protection from a backfire/flameout. In the future, you might mention what "PCM" stands for and how it drives the injectors. :-)

  • ive got my fingers a couple of times on the blades on the alternator and on the fan not good feeling at all

  • I have a 1991 GMC Suburban with TBI. Haha TBI is kinda cool.

  • Thanks for the video man i always wanted to know more about the TBI on old gm trucks.
