  • VERY NICE !!! PLEASE,PLEASE,PLEASE tell me what that INTERIOR color is. What blue is that ? Is it Bright Blue ? Medium Bright Blue ? Is your trim tag 832 ??? I have one with the same interior and I'm trying to match the paint...please help ! Thanks my friend

  • Very nice Chevy I like the interior

  • this caprice is the same one as mine exept the engine sizt but we have the same interior

  • very good production. :)

  • My father had one, brand new when i was born. Silver with black buckets 427!

  • Love the car!

  • one cherry ass ride, wouldnt touch any thing, except maybe a pair of keystones

  • another big car was the coupe! i love these cars man! sum people dont know alot about the old CADDYS, my buddy hada 70 deville, it was huge, but it was the coupe, so it was SEXY! bout 10 yrs ago, it was unrestored wit the orig 472 plant! they made bout 375hp and almost 500tq factory. that thing wud crank good donuts, and it was a SITE! back then there was no OD tranys, so in a cruiser it wasnt normal havn 410s, but getn on the highway it wud put u in ur seat! wuda luvd 2 see that wit sum 373s!

  • love this car, love that in most years u could get a 4 speed with a car like this, but seeing a floor shift auto in a car that youd expect a hockey stick on the column is AWSOME! Gm was badass in the 60s/early 70s. The caprice was a car you could drive a lil league team around in with enuff room in the trunk for the Gear.Having the option to getit wit 2 doors and a SMOKIN 427/454 70+ is AWSOME! what a gorgeous car that honestly we dont see enuff of!

  • Exceptional car....

  • sweet ride, dude. nice resto job.

  • Super nice looking Caprice you have! All your efforts paid off, you have a beautiful driving machine!

  • Leigh-

All your time and attention to detail really DOES show....Just looking at the car in your video, it is obvious that every nut/bolt/detail was thoughtfully attended to....That Caprice is beautifully original, how many hours/years did this restoration take? I wish I had the ability/time/money to revive my 73 Caprice convertible!

  • My Aunt and Uncle had one just like that when I was a kid in the 60's but theirs was two tone Brown and white with a hard top.

  • your car isnt impressive at all. My 1966 with a 396 sure doesnt need water to boil the tires. Sorry guy.....a 427 should be totaly snakey.

  • Leigh,

Nice meeting you today, what a gorgeous car..I'll see if I can find a link to my friend.s 67 SS 427...

    DAve H

  • I ahve a 66 belair, having trouble locating parts however. Anybody got any good sites or catalogs i could order from.

  • SWEEEEEEEET

  • Best looking Caprice year-ever!

  • why did you have to have the ground wet for the burnout?...i mean, come on,my Van will do that on wet pavement

    nice looking car though,,,,.

  • I have a 67 Caprice 4dr HT with a 396, 400 tranny and a 12 bolt rear. In a 4dr!!!!!!!

  • wtf 396 in a 4 door....my 4 door got a 350...damit imma bore it out now haha

  • Thats the car Tony Barretta drove before he killed his wife : 0

  • i have a 1966 caprice 396 4 speed original with a 12 bolt rearend.i heard it is 1 of 98 made.can anybody verify that?

  • No, as there are unfortunately no production figures for Chevrolets, unless your car was built in Canada.

  • was the 66 caprice a mopar muscle car

  • no chevrolet is a part of GM i think

  • definately not mopar.... mopar is chrysler/dodge

  • The 1966s were the best looking full-sized Chevys of the 1960s. Great looking car.

  • B-H

If I had a gorgeous car like this I'd NEVER do a burnout..even with water on the ground! I'd definitely drive it, and drive it fast when it was safe to do so (like on the Interstate), without abusing it. These cars were meant to be luxo-cruisers, and that's what they do best.

This car deserves the best of care and it is designed to last for many years of driving enjoyment,.Bill H.

  • Exactly

  • its pretty sad you needed water to do a burnout with a 427... i have a 49ihc and i can smoke em all day long and its only a 283..

  • Why do you think he "NEEDED" the water? An assumption? The sprinkler system just happened to be on, and if you just spent $100,000 restoring a car to Concours D'Elegance standards like this one, would you go out and smoke the tires off? This car had only 10 miles on it when we shot this. The first thing on the owners mind was not to go out and try to break something. Using water puts a lot less strain on the drivetrain. Any videos of your burnouts?

  • No would you like me to take some for you? and trust me if you do burnouts right you have no risk at "breaking something". Ive drag raced my entire life and if you break something doing a burn out then you put together a pretty shitty vehicle

  • Beauty of a car man! My father years back had one like that, hardtop, coppertone, with black interior! Never forget as being a little kid, one day we were out, and he tried to teach her how to drive it, this was a 4 speed manual, and she was not familiar with manual transmissions!

  • A beautiful car!!! Thanks for the video.

  • Wow -- sure brings back memories. I had a no-frills, green, 1966 Chevrolet Biscayne, 2-door sedan with 396 Turbojet, Turbo-Hydromatic, Rochester 4 bbl, one exhaust pipe, 15-inch wheels and tiny hubcaps. Former RCMP highway patrol vehicle. Picked it up in '68. Damn near didn't make it out of the '60's alive. Wish I still had it. Don't know how many horses, but it went real quick.

    Nice work, man.

  • I had the exact same car with the "396" 325 HP, it had A.C. power everything, including the console mounted stereo and wooden steering wheel in silver with black vinyl roof. I bought it in 1968 from a guy in Oklahoma , it was truly a great car ,it was faster and had more luxury options than most G.M cars of the day. I miss it to this day!

  • OMG im blown away on how clean this car is, i have a 66 caprice imperial blue 327/powerslide,lol, building a sport sedan out of it, i love the lines on this car so clsssic and just a one of a kind car. any help on trim parts please let me know???

  • Clean isn't the word for it...It's actually a 100 pt perfect restoration. Don't let the fact that he did a burnout with it fool you. See more on this car "EPISODE 4 - Leighs Garage" on the backyard wrenchHEADS TV site.

  • @rick91chevy where can u find the trim 4 the hard top???

  • my dad had a BEUTIFULE light blue 66, I was brought home from the hospitle in that car. Unfortuanatly he took the motor out and sent the rest of the car to the junk yard, I had to watch it go through the crusher. Do you have any idea what thats like?

  • is that sky blue metalic? give us the color code will you please?

  • It's called Mist Blue...Color code is "D"

  • I love it and it's not even mine! I wish I had one of these cars just like that. Thumbs up!

  • I just bought the same car. My car came with everything but the motor. the car is in great shape.

  • The 1966 full sized Chevys were beautiful. A neighbor of mine in L.A. had a white Caprice w/black vinyl top/interior and as I remember wire hubcaps. Great car!

  • Wow, nice car. Looks Showroom New.

  • A beautiful...BEAUTIFUL car.

    Congratulations on an Excellent,

    and a CORRECT restoration.

    Bless you.

  • awesome!!! that's it...i'm saving up to get my hands on one. dad used to have one when i was a kid. i'm 29 now, and i gotta get this! nothing new really appeals to me. this is my favorite car ever. love the old schools...

  • nice 2 see anohter 1 on the road in such great shape. ive got a black 1 all orig. with 66k. its the 327 with a turbo 350. its our baby...

  • my father had a silver one with the console. i love this car.

  • One of the best looking full size Chevys from that era.

  • I want to have this car! NOW!!! omg

  • That's NICE!! And I'm a Ford man.....

  • Oh my God! I would die to have that car!

Dude you should be proud of that! Damn I envy you.
