  • 21 people were killed by maximus

  • @LotusDoc wow lotus doc, your a very funny guy. i really want to hang out with you.

  • The kid at the end, is that the same kid that is on Life Is Beautiful?

  • Now we are free. I will see you again, but not yet. Not yet.

  • shit the way they cast his wife as a negroe, ruins the scene.

  • not yet.. not yet..

  • For so long when this movie came out and i watched it every day with my dad when i was a child i never knew what it meant now when he saw his wife and kid. Now i know.

  • 21 people didnt see this Legendary Movie and dont understand this touching and emotional ending

  • This motion picture speaks louder then a thousand words... I feel like speaking on it but I know I will fall short on this masterpiece. Fucking epic

  • havnt watched this movie in ages how did he die and crap?

  • @ExzaRites He got in the Arena with the king of rome, But before they fought, the King Stabbed him Then strapped on his amour, to conceal the wound. Then MAXIMUS Kicked the kings ass, But bleed out from his wound :(

  • Ohh no, ive got tears in my eyes again. This is about the only film that will really make me cry at the end. And thats why its one of my fav films.

  • YOU know what they say about shit, just wipe it off yer foot and leave it there, commodus was shite, one of the best films Crowe has done, i will see him again but NOT YET!!!

  • Ridley Scott is one of the best directors who combines the finest quality of voice acting, story, and music to top his movies all of. It creates a dramactic storyline that makes you feel like you really were there in there in the collosieum. Also Hanz Zimmer who composes the music is an excellent musician who wrote the music for this movie and Black Hawk Down which I highly recommend seeing. Ridley Scott is an arguably more talented director then Steven Spielburg.

  • Why do I have to cry again? best movie ever.

  • They just leeve commodus there. God I love this film, best I seen and definitly the best roles Phoenix and Crowe have played. Love them so much, amazing actors.

  • epic music and epic movie

  • Strength and Honour

  • "I will see you again... but not yet... not yet" Fucking epic spiritual scene.

  • maximus is awesome!

  • this song. Touches the heart. and makes me not be afraid to die.

its one of those feelings you can't explain.

    Epic.

  • MAXIMUS!

    MAXIMUS!

    MAXIMUS!

    MAXIMUS!

    MAXIMUS!

  • does anyone else think thats what it will be like when we die?, see all your loved ones again, pure joy and peace, thats what i hope happens :)

  • @abcjc1 No, very unlikely it will be like that. Simply because it defies logic. When your dead your dead. Just like before you were born, you didn't mind and you won't after you die.

  • Such a great ending. The best part is when the credits come in to the best song from the soundtrack. That had a big impact on me

  • What song is this? It sounds Gaelic but is it Italian?

  • @scorzi It's a "language" that the singer, Lisa Gerrard, invented herself. She has sung in this "language" since she was a child.

  • @scorzi we are free now by enya

  • such a powerful ending

  • Even Chuck Norris cried during this scene, and did cure someones cancer.

  • :-(::::::

  • :(::::::

  • why isn't the entire ending here? the part where the black guy is talking and laying down the wood figures in the sand is there a part if it but the part where the camera goes over the coloseum and the sun sets over rome, that is a beautiful scene. I want to see the sunset scene. Without it it's not an ending.

  • @MegaDIF

This is YouTube not netflix. Go rent the movie.

  • er war ein soldat rom´s, ehrt ihn! epic

  • "Now we are free. I will see you again, but not yet, not yet."

  • R.I.p maximus

  • i WILL see you again, just not yet, not yet ~~ This line helps me always deal with a death

  • @JJDSVIDS youre right. i find myself saying that

  • Manly tears and goosebumps

  • Lucilla:Is Rome worth one good man's life? We believed it once. Make us believe it again. He was a soldier of Rome. Honor him.

Gracchus:Who will help me carry him?

[Gladiators surround Maximus to carry him out of the arena]

Just Brilliant, I mean WoW what a truly amazing line !

  • this movie deserved every award it got, one of my favs of all time

  • i like that drop.. very real. this movie will stand the test of time and will forever be one of the best movies ever to come out of hollywood.

  • i like that drop.. very real. this movie will stand the test of time and will forver be one of the best movies ever to come out of hollywood.

  • i heard the nigger got stabbed right after

    fucking racist

  • @Xboxlove1 you should't say nigger, asshole.

  • I've heared this story has some parts that is really happen, my mom was go to rome on holiday, and the guy in the colluseum said, that really a gladiator had fight against the king.

  • @Sergeant1990 Yeah i know but my english is not good i could find the right word for it =)

  • Now we are free...I will see you again..but not yet...not yet...

  • Wats the name of the song towards the end?

    It sounds amazing

  • @MrNick5151 its called "Honor Him" and the ending is " Now we are free"

  • that guy was a real man (ironic isnt it)

  • wow, I just watched this so I can know what happened at the ending due to dvd crash. And I suddenly started crying when I saw his son watch at him :') Jeesus man i cry....

  • wawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

  • I cried when I saw this. This movie was so intense. The dialogue was brilliant, and the acting and story line was phenomenal.

  • maybe you should read ALL the reactions,,,,stupid

  • makes me cry

  • nice

  • One of the most well directed movies of all time. Thank you Ridley Scott, you and this movie are legends

  • @Joethegreat15 it is in here??

  • this is the most saddest scene ever

  • Amazing... Supposed to be one of the manliest films around , yet it leaves most men sobbing . Best song beginning and end , best film in my opinion . One of the best quotes in a film too:" Now we are free. I will see you again , but not yet... not yet"

  • 21 barbarians disliked this.

  • A masterpiece but the scene didn't make me cry,the last samurai's ending was more tragic

  • There is like an entire minuet before this clip that is needed to really complete the scene.

  • The most important ending sequence I have ever seen, in any movie (at least in my day), period. Hans zimmer worked on this score for nine months until it made Scott cry like a baby. It totally caught me off guard when I went to see it, and I will never forget how it felt leaving the theatre.

  • i cry every fucking time.

  • you aint the only one lol

  • The end guy is cool... =D

  • @CrazyPinapple

Yeah I watched it last night, but it'd been insanely edited though. :( Where's my bloody gore?!

  • Oh, I like this movie so much, there are so many Feelings and a amazing Soundtrack from Hans Zimmer!

And also a perfect Actor: Rusel Crowe, I like him so much!!

  • I loved this movie yet as a scholar of ancient history the historical innacuracies were a tiny bit jarring.

  • i will see you again.......but not yet

  • This scene always gets me. Even as a guy, i get choked up every time. This movie along with the soundtrack is a piece of legend! A masterpiece!

  • Roman Empire honor for ever .. the more big and powerful the world has seen! SPQR

  • This song was on Man On Fire

  • Lol they messed up in a part of this video...u know how they put there hands on there forehead cuz the sun was in there eyes when it showed Maximus as a kid, well they messed up cuz they didn't blocked the sun, the shadows of there hands wasn't on there eyes...

  • i cried at this scene, really a EPIC film!!!

  • i love this movie so fucking much. I can watch it at any given time of day and still get the thrill i got when i first saw it. My #1 of all time for sure.

  • I always get goosebumps when i see this ending, such an amazing movie.

  • Top ten saddest movie endings, holding back tears. This and Shawshank Redemption have so much blood and action, but the softest/saddest endings. ;(

  • the ending is so sadnses

  • Maximus was the Roy keane of roman times =]

  • HE WAS A SOLDIER OF ROME!!! HONOR HIM!

People like him should never be forgotten.

  • A manly tear was shed for Maximus.

  • Thumb Ups if YOU LOVE WATCHING THE ENDING PART. =)

  • @nanopuppy107 its brillant

  • the last bit of it is the best

  • Ok so lets get this straight. Apparently there's an afterlife that resembles exactly like Earth, and you go to live in it wearing the same shit and meet with only two members of your family. So basically, it's not an afterlife, just a parallel universe? Who's to say the reality in the film is actually the reality and the afterlife isn't the reality? Seems to me it's just a parallel universe. I mean, what distinguishes it?

  • @cb9603 I don't think you understand. It's fiction... it doesn't matter what your beliefs are. You watch the film and believe it's real and it's beautiful.

  • @cb9603 I don't think the film focuses on the idea of an afterlife and what it's like as much as it's just trying to emphasize that he meets his family again.

  • @malicant 123

    definitely

  • Hans Zimmer is a genious, along with many others who made this film unbeaten for me.

  • monkey nuts your a fag

  • I bet they spread Maximus's wife's legs and ate her pussy meat. And blew their love butter all over her face and had his son lick it up.

  • i alwats starts du cry when i sees this movie

  • I didn't hold tears back I cried XD

  • @ATBisthebest1 Oh... You'd tap Maximus' wife? Well, I guess you do like MILFs. Well I guess it's just coz' you're a whiny kid who can't get a normal teen girl. Good luck with jerkin' off to the Lion King. I'll be doin' better things. Things better than teplying to your ignoran-ASS.

  • @ATBisthebest1 OH, really, now? I thought you were just being an ignorant prick relating an amazing movie to such a stupid concept that is hardly in the movie.

  • @ATBisthebest1 So you're sayin' you'd like Terminator's dick in your ass, lion claws in your face, blade runner's blade slicin' your dick... Good for you.

  • @ATBisthebest1 Word, I'd bet ya'll enjoy them nigger dicks. Ya'll didn't know it til'' Maximus shoved his sword up your ass.

  • What's the song calledbits good as fuxk puts me to sleep

  • @ATBisthebest1 They said she enjoyed it... If you'd taken the time to listen to the movie, and perhaps taken the time to also improve your English, then you would understand the story. He does nothing? If you'd also taken the time to watch this, he pretty much kills the antagonist while bleeding to death, and doing it with finesse, not just brute assaultive force. That's better than what any Terminator movie could provide. Especially since he has a calm way of eliminating his opponent.

  • @andre3787 omg i thought i was the only one much respect to u bro

  • The best film

  • @ATBisthebest1 WTF? Gladiator's ending was way better. Lion King 2? OMFG WTF LOL Are you kidding us?

  • To make you guys feel better, this film won the Academy Award for Best Picture.

  • russell crowe's acting was great throughout the whole film, but dang did he nail it at the end here...the facial acting as he is fading in and out of the afterlife and whatnot, everything...amazing job to really cinch a fantastic movie

  • it's really sad what happened to his wife and kid :(

sometimes we peopel are animals, no le me correct that,

worse than animals, cuz even animals wouldn't do things like that!!

  • this movie is the all time classic ..rossel crow was perfect..i couldn't see one mis-act from him he nailed his part so did every1 else

  • so sad lol

  • lol my uncle was a barbarien soldier at the beginning xD lucky him lol

  • saddest ending ive ever seen.... best movie though!!!!!!! such a sad ending yet happy there couldnt b another movie like it... never

  • @ATBisthebest1 what are you like 14? lion king was ok for a fing cartoon but is nowhere near Gladiator son. Terminator 2 was a fing lame azz movie kid.

  • one of the new great classics...

  • the black guy in this movie will always be remembered <3

  • btw notice no one is carrying the emperor at 2:37

  • name of the tune 1:40 and out movie?

  • Maximus was too cool of a character to be killed off by a punk king.

  • fuck avatar and fuck pocahontas...those movies are nothing compare to this movie!!!!

    LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!

  • @QteDushi What does this have to do with anything?

  • @QteDushi Avatar was a COPY CAT version of Pocahontas. The only thing that movie had was it`s graphics. Stupid movie.

  • 2:41 - 3:22, most touching moment of the film

  • Can someone please tell me how Ridley Scott has never won an Oscar? It's just like Steven Spielberg when the Academy denied him an Oscar for many years until Schindler's List (to be honest he had to win that Oscar for that film)

  • Lucilla's speech at the end..

  • the thing about this ending is that i can watch it over and over again and it still has the same effect on me... gives me goosebumps

  • Braveheart, Gladiator, 300 ... the 'Masculine Trilogy' of a generation.

  • Truly a fantastic film!

  • I'm a huge film fan, iv seen most great films, but this is no.1 in my books.

  • I did

  • women always wonder why us men have no heart and love bloody action movies while they watch their romantic comedies. I tell them they we have more heart than they think. Finding the love of your life in a romantic comedy can never pull at your heart strings as much as hans zimmer combined with a character you have come to admire fights and dies so he can once again be reunited with his family.

  • @macbeasty thats honestly one of the better things ive ever read on here in all the years!

  • @macbeasty This type of movie women like as well. I think you are referring to those bloody terminator sequels etc.

  • @macbeasty True how many romantic comedies come and go every year, ive seen two and have no intention of ever seeing them again movies like Troy, The Gladiator, and The last Samurai i cant picture a time i wouldnt want to watch them.

  • @macbeasty women have no souls.

  • @macbeasty I'm a girl and I seriously cried more at this than on any other romantic comedy. This is just a masterpiece.

  • @TrojanKassandra you cry at comedies?

  • @serioushamster ... no. But sometimes in so called romantic comedies, there are few scenes which made not few of my female friends cry.

  • @macbeasty Amen. I didnt cry, but i had to use every fiber of my body to not cry :P . this movie got to me man, this beats Avatar by a long shot (yes, im a bro ;) )

  • BEST MOVIE EVER BEST MOVIE EVER BEST MOVIE EVER BEST MOVIE EVER !!

  • DRAMATIC

  • DRAMATIC

  • AWESOME ENDING ...

I Always Cry when I watch it ...

  • Did anyone else have to hold back tears when they seen this?

  • @malicant123

I try, but I can't. I always burst out crying at the end of this film. Dx

  • @malicant123

Holding back tears is for pussies not comfortable with their emotions. It's only human to cry, and it's proven to be good for you too.

  • @refuckulate420 I wouldnt say that ive held back my tears only to cry later.

  • @malicant123 Yes! And I was chugging a brew at the "Brew and View" in Chicago watching this. Great flick! Love the song too.

  • @malicant123 yeah pretty much

  • @malicant123 haha, yes

  • @malicant123

I still must seeing this short clip!

  • @malicant123 No, mine kinda showed.

  • @malicant123 the question really is, who didn't?

  • They don't make films like these anymore, quality film.

  • queeeeeeeee tristeeeeeeeee

  • Comment removed

  • DID HE DIEDED

  • @TheLobsterOfFate Nah, he Survived. LMAO!

  • Trop triste se film est le meilleure de tout les temp.

  • Sometimes this makes me think about all the times i've been sad... i cry of this scene because of that...

  • lol now show me where the emperor went

  • amen to that

  • love this film should bring a nother roman film out
