If the BGK is bigger than your oscars they are demi aggressive fish they can stand their ground when they need to. Ig you get them fairly young at the same time though they should grow up together fine as long as the BGK is bigger.

Went to aquarium shop today , would love to have black ghost knife but guy in shop said that at 25Gal my tank isn't large enough! Which I can understand but it annoys me when they're displayed in a tank a fraction the size of mine.

@james86d Fish in stores are usually kept in tanks not big enough, & often overcrowded. Just because a shop keeps it in a tank too small for it doesn't mean you can buy it and put it in a tank equally small. This is because of: 1) The tank in the store may be small for the size and number of fish, but probably has higher filtration than your tank at home, & 2) While small, the tank in the store is not a permanent home. Chances are it will sell quickly, so the fish is ony cramped for a while.

@james86d I agree w/ AquaLifeWarrnambool and would like to add that the smaller tank sizes help them to sell a larger variety of fish to better suit the needs of their customers. they only stay in the tanks for a short period of timebut you should always get your fish the largest tank you can afford. :)

Hi! I got one as well. Do they eat other fish?? Just bougt another load of six smal fish. Losing one evry day. Dont know if its Black ghost or some other fish. Unlikly though.

if the tank has a lot of large fish in it they probably all ate them. even freshwater angelfish will eat smaller fish if they are big enough.

if the tank woul be darker, the bgk would come out, swim around you hand. there is too much lite, you need wood in it!

How big is your BGK? I have two, but their tank is too small. I'm going to get a 55 gal soon. My fish attack the earthworm pieces, but can't eat them. Tonight was the first night I tried it. I'll cut the pieces smaller tomorrow night. I also feed them (previously) frozen bloodworms. I'm near to the hand feeding stage, but they need to get a little bigger.

My black ghost was around six inches in this video, but now he is around 8 inches. Try to cut up your pieces so that they can be easily eaten. BTW when you get your new tank put it up I would like to see it!

mine's 8 inches and he just tonight ate 5 whole earthworms! :-)
