if by monkey you mean primate then yes, i don't think thats degrading at all, complexity evolves from simplicty, it just shows you how well we are doing, the fact that we started out as mere animals and made ourselves better. but why is everyone convinced that the universe is based on morality and not the other way around? Objective morality? Thats like saying "objective humour", there is none, all a matter of opinion, there is however "mainstream morality" which is just as good as moral fact.

I know exactly how religion has helped me, it hasn't. All that i know of the universe i learned through deductive and inductive reasoning,logic, evidence. Scripture is open to interpretation, facts are not.

Laws are sociological not religious, morals are innate and punishment is also sociological. Actually what religion has given is hatred, idolatry and war. I don't understand why people separate religion and science when they are very close. Science is just some of the laws Allah set into place for how things will be. There are many scientific facts in the Quran also.

so far there hasn't been any evidence to suggest a deity being existential, so it would never even make the court room in a law case. quite the reverse in fact, all the evidence thus far suggests that complexity is evolving from simplicity, and god being infinately complex, thus CANNOT exist let alone doesn't. God is an idea, an imporant idea, just as important as maths, and i think its insulting the idea to take it literally. God doesn't need to exist to have power and meaning.
