Not only prices increase whenever the gov. gives salary raises. But the prices dramatically increase during every Holiday. In advanced countries, contrary to Ethiopia, prices go DOWN during holidays. Retailers make good income during Holidays by high volume sales with low prices, instead price gauging as in Ethiopia.
