I took a second look at the kid getting it and he was bleeding pretty badly from his belly wound. His guts must have really been hurting bad. No chance he could live.

@Amethysting Yeah I know but type in Billy the Kids graves on youtube. At one point the guide says "Billy pals, his fellow bank robbers" .Despite Billy the Kid never having robbed a bank in his life.
