  • Great editing job, dude! I remember when I was in junior college, watching ShaNaNa on TV. Their pastiche of this song included similar choreography. Choreogrpahy which I have referred to ever since as "Four Guys In White Dinner Jackets." LOL!

  • Does anyone know where I can get the sheet music for this song? I have looked all over the internet and can't find it anywhere? I even tried the Jackson 5ive version, albeit no luck.

  • I had those shoes,classic

  • i totally agree , todays music is crap , i always argue with my 17 year old daughter and 23 year old son , I WILL NOT GIVE UP , ha ha

  • THIS IS MY SECOND RESPONSE TO THIS INCREDIBLE SONG, I'VE BEEN LISTENING TO GREAT VOCAL TALENTS ALL MY LIFE FROM OPERA TO YODELING, YOU NAME IT ...THIS SONG IS A FEAT OF VOCAL MAGIC...GOD BLESS THESE TRUE MEN OF THE ART OF BEL CANTO...PLEASE SAVE US FROM THE BULLSHIT HYPE OF THE HORRID MUSICAL SCENE OF TODAY....DEATH WON'T BE SO BAD IF I COULD ESCAPE THE MINDLESS CRAP WE NOW PASS AS MUSIC...

  • Ow so nice and I was born after this great music period! (Unfortunately!)

  • The best-est!

  • man ain't nothing like the oldies to get ya a grooving :)

  • amazing! nobody can sing like this anymore, how sad these imposter's now days make obscene amount's of money without having anywhere near the vocal talents of these true artist's, this song is a very favorite of mine..from an era of true singing style and talent..the 1950's..........

  • Johnny Moore was great no doubt, but lrts not forget about Clyde McPhatter,Ben E King, and Rudy Lewis, who in my opinion were every bit as good.Rudy is the least known ,and had the most hits as a lead singer for the group.

  • the best video on you ntube .........

  • im 15 and think i was born in the wrong century.......this music rocks

  • I'm 2 years old. Just thought I'd mention my age.

  • @JamieIsNotAvailable You spell very well.........

  • @JamieIsNotAvailable You have pretty good grammatical accuracy for a two year old! Unfortunately you also seem to be suffering the side effect of being an attention whore.

  • my we never forget these beautiful love songs ...makes me always smile remembering my old friends bless always

  • I love this song! I had to share it and it's original performance.

  • Shame its 'Lip-Synched'.......

  • @Factnotfictionpeople

trailer park...thats why u go lag.

  • Nice job with the edit. The song is under 3 minutes, but you repated the part after the horn solo. You did a seamless edit at the part where you see their feet. Very nice indeed.

  • Absolutely Fantastic! Thanks for uploading it.

  • i was born in the wrong generation

  • @143marleyHP That's nothing, I was born in the wrong operation, She only went in to have her colon irrigated, the cesarean wasn't booked until the following tuesday. Oh well, at least i have only one conjoined twin attached to my torso.

  • Mr. Johnny Moore, an incredible singer!

The Drifters... first class all the way! Rudy Lewis, Ben E. King, and Clyde McPhatter were all excellent singers.... I hear Elvis in this song.... I wonder if Elvis.... well, figure it out... heh...?

  • What a brilliant voice Johnny Moore had. Wasn't he the only member to have been in both Drifter groups? He was high tenor on Adorable and stepped in to record Under the Boardwalk the day Rudy Lewis was found dead. I think the rolling eyes and intricate dance steps came later.

  • @chris185821 - hello chris you are a tit. do you understand what pop (popular) means ? = sales = money ... you and i buy whatever is out there makes it popular. i agree originals are always best but for heavens sake dont say people shouldnt buy/watch what they choose (you old enough to remember the falklands), corney cheesey dont matter if that makes them/you happy let it be ...

  • @666cliffy your are fucking idiot , i dont buy anything i dont like , people can watch and buy what the fuck they want , but dont disrespect real talent is my problem , not corney or cheesey , you name me anyone who can sing live like this , i seen the drifters a few times live , sadly no longer around , and sat a few feet from them , fantastic , not like the shit around today without all the computer backup , please like who you want , but unless you know what your talking about , go away .

  • saturday night at the movies :p

  • davcoolio---i know neither am i just reminising of the good old days...smile.

  • the young man on the far left is so cute and cool. love it.

  • @Kukumamma he's not so young anymore i'm afraid :-(

  • This is the better, version in comparison to Robson and Jeromes whcih was in billions of ways crap.

  • @rojblake82 robson and jerome , are two idiots that at that time were on english tv , soldier , soldier was the tv drama of the time , again i am proved right , they took advantage of there tv fame , the show was shit , so was there song , it should not be allowed that crap is never played on the radio unlike the real song , i believe simon cowell was behind this at the time , why doesent he just fuck off and leave the people alone instead of earning millions for himself ,

  • GOT THEIR CD brillant

  • I love how quickly Johnny Moore runs out of fucks to give about lipsynching.

  • best band ever

  • Music from the soul.

  • Different time when people had talent and couldn't make it if they didn't! When a man was a man and a woman a woman! I doubt you'll ever see talant like this again, shame.

  • Aw wot class just watch those moves......what a dream!

  • this is what i would say is class music, instead of this rubbish we listen to these days, anyone agree?

  • @wickedblue1974 No, this is good music, and there is good music now. Stop trying to get the rose tinted nostalgia gang to thumb up your shitty comment, the 60's had just as much it's fair share of shitty pop as we do.

  • @RedcoatMic24 yes i agree there was some crap in the 60s BUT .......... who today could sing live and sound as they do on cd , i saw the drifters 4 times live and they sound the same as on record , only a hand full today but back then you had to have talent or you failed , today reality shows take presedence and that is wrong , over night you can have a hit song and wont be around in two years , were as a lot of singers and bands who were around then are still here today .....

  • have u listened 2 beyonce or alicia keyes and others why be so negative

  • I miss you Mr Moore. Not many singers about like you these days. RIP.

  • You know when a singer/group's music is good when they don't have to run around the stage like all these other "entertainers" do nowadays just to keep people interested.

  • Happy Birthday Frances, Friday night at the movies!!

  • 5 people didnt go to the movies on a saturday night

  • @heypalhowru thats pretty clever

  • 5 people have a small dig!

  • Not putting Elvis down, because I love him & his work, but it's obvious he took a lot of his singing techniques and dance styles from various black singers. Jackie Wilson is the first to come to mind and also seeing this lead singer make me think of Elvis doing his thang in the movies. I guess imitation is the sincere form of flattery. But give credit where credit is due. BTW, great song. I love all forms of the Drifters. Thank you!

  • @amethystlady he stole his moves off of forrest gump!

  • ahaha havwe u seen there eyes !!!!

  • ok you may call the so called rap on the radio "crap" but there is a lot of good underground stuff with alot of meaning to it.... like the stuff when it was about telling a story not just about guns and money and the other stuff... :)

  • @TheGhettostylus

then why dont they put on the radio

i tell u why cause these punks today would laugh

and none of them would buy it

  • @bigjerseydog1270

yeah your right they wouldnt buy it..... because all these people doing so called hiphop say hiphop is dead because they dont want anyone else trying to take the lime light from them..... they want all the fame and money just for them selfs

  • superb

  • Clear the floor... This will be backwards skate. Backwards skating only.

  • Haha his facial expressions make me laugh so much :D

  • Pretty much every Drifter lineup wasvery talented but this one with Johnny Moore on lead and Charlie Thomas was my favorite ... so nice to hear good music

  • The Drifters are probably the most under-rated group of all time.

  • I'm 15, and i absolutely love these guys! It's a shame i'm one of a few people my age, this is where the real music is!!

  • @MrIndia19995 I was almost 14 when this song hit the charts in November 1964. and it affected me both then and now just as it affects you. This was "feel good music" . Now, do your friends a favor, and turn as many of them on to the Drifters as you can. Be a leader of your generation in keeping this music alive so it can be enjoyed by generations to come!!

  • @doowopper1951 Indeed i shall, if more people knew this was here, more would appreciate it! I've got some educating to do!

  • @MissLouiseWard14 I feel just as you do!

  • Oh yeah, I remember it so very well...same as me and my girl friend back in the past - and than kissing in the backrow of the movies...

Now I´m 63 and still love this music!!!

  • So cool.

  • Makes me think of the drive in movies... triple feature, The killer tomatoes. the body snatchers and of course the leech woman.

  • Smart, stylish & cool. A class act.

  • Takes me back to being 15 years old......what a time!!!

  • This video made me very very happy! Thanks!!!

  • the times changes!!!!!!

  • thats charlie thomas on the right. Dont miss Live Doo Wopp Explosion at the chevalier theatre medford, ma on friday june 24, 2011 with charlie thomas drifters, shirley alston reeves original lead singer of the shirelles, the crystals, vito picone and the elegants. i have my tickets.

  • the awkward moment when its saturday night and these guys ARENT at the movies (:

  • Johnny Moore one of the lead vocalists with the Drifters (performs on this selection) an incredible singer!

  • Where had all the Real Men gone???? One on the greatest male groups ever...nothing sissy here, no metrosexual, no high on drugs rappers....just pure and real men......MEN not boys

  • @cleopat428

They're around. Very, very hard to find, but they're around. I've seen a few. =)

  • This was my favourite song as a child. I still love it!

  • Thank's for this video clip, I simply love The Drifters

  • The Drifters have always had great lead singers; each one holding his own, so to say one was better than another is trite. From Clyde to Rudy to Ben E. to Johnny Moore and one or two others (including Charlie Thomas on a few leads) they have consistently sounded good... my all time favorite group!

  • Spam 3:26 and prepare to be scared shitless XD

  • Love this song and loved Johnny Moore...the greatest lead of the Drifters, hands down!!!

  • I kissed my girl when I was 19, listening to this tune. So how could I ever forget it?

  • Rudy lewis was the best lead singer of the drifters why isn't he mentioned he recorded more hits than any other

  • this has to be the greatest video on youtube. justin bieber can eat the drifters' shit.

  • @georgenichollsgeorge hell yeah!!! lolllll

  • I have a request. I have a '45 by the Drifters titled ain't it the truth. But no one seems to have it not I'tunes I mean no one. If you have it please download it.

  • Thumbs way up, thanks so much for sharing this treasure!!!!!!

  • too cool.......songs like this make you want to be in the 60's again

  • Does anyone else hear Elvis in this song!

Listen to the nuances! I was pleasantly surprised about this!

Me thinks, Elvis admired Johnny Moore, or a strange conincidence.....

Johhny Moore a wonderful singer... all the leads in the Drifters were... Rudy Lewis, Clyde McPhatter, Ben E. King.....wonderful songl

  • Didn't take much to make us happy, just shagging the night away!!!

  • I can watch this a thousand times over...He (Johnny) has such a gorgeous face...and I love the song of course..lol

  • brings back lots of good memories, dancing at Myrtle Beach, SC

  • @stewharkar ...CRAZY ZACKS.....MAGIC ATTIC...DUCKS...O.D. PUB...CASTAWAYS....FAT HAROLDS.....THOSE WERE THE DAYS!!!!!!

  • I absolutely love this song. And Johny Moore if thats his name is brilliant.

  • Seems black people in america were more friendly in those days by the looks of these guys. Great song.

  • EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Those are the only steps they know

  • I had a moment of nostalgia. My school made us sing this song every monday at the beginning of assembly. That was over 10 years ago...Watching this video made me realize how much I've grown up over the years.

Thanks for the upload, this really made my day.

  • Johnny Moore, Gene Pearson, John Terry, Charlie Thomas

  • what a wonderfull happy song , make me feel good all over !!

  • no matter who the frontman was, the drifters always seemed to find their way to the charts always with success. thank you soooooooo much for the memories. tom d brick,nj

  • Johnny Moore was Sexy!!

  • Brilliant.

  • aLCHEMY :D

  • Great stuff!

The Drifters weren't so much a band as an institution. Over 100 members at the last count I think.

  • johnny moore fantastic very very good

  • WOOOW....this song is the intro in the DIRE sTRAITS' live performance "Alchemy".....beautiful performance for the Drifters, love it....love both Drifters and Dire Syraits!!!

  • great music!

  • Why can't music by blacks be joyful, happy, clean and wonderful like this again instead of the rap crap!

  • @HHH100

    Boy....I'm with you....!!!!!

  • @HHH100 When you say this, it makes me think you mean ALL black singers today can't sing joyful, clean and and wonderful songs. If you do that you place us as a one note stereotype and that's not true. That would be like equating Eminem, Pantera, Slayer and Iron Maiden to Pat Boone. And we wouldn't want to do that. I would say music was great back then and it made us all feel good. Just my opinion. Everything we sing is not rap! Thank you Jesus!

  • @HHH100 ask your president. he is one of the rapper variety.

  • chester riggon sang for these on tour

  • That is Charlie Thomas on the right.Moore was great BTW was in the mid 50's version and rejoined them I think after Rudy Lewis' untimely death.

  • beyonce my backside --shes a bore. no talent --just sex .....

  • then was gud

  • the best drifters lead singer by far

  • old tunes never die

  • That's Gene Levison to his right. I worked with him in the 1980's he was a NYPD Cop and a great guy. He has since passed away. Rest in Peace Gene.

  • Sorry, but thats Charlie Thomas to His left

and Doc Green to His right

  • Sorry, but thats Charlie Thomas to His left

  • Very nice song!

  • @EHRIBOY35 mohh

  • 1:27 his eyes !!! :D

  • There's a Beyonce' in every group.

  • dit is de beste van de Drifters vink ik

  • I wish today's generation would write music like this instead of that rap crap.

  • @Rivermontana probably because nowadays a trip to the movies is considered a 'cheap date' .. says some of the female friends of mine

  • @Rivermontana

So do I and I am today's generation.

  • Eminem's good though.

  • @Rivermontana

    Well said!

  • @Rivermontana I know right? Its just like "Im put on my 50k watch and bang shawtys pussy harder than my cock when i see my koolaid" :/

  • @dudewalkers2 try not to judge rap on recent examples...rap is like any other form of music except it's more susceptible to marketability....there's only a few rappers on a mainstream level that stay true to the art. You should look up some of the real artists
