Something I hated about the anime is that the greatest Elite Four members in the franchise(in my opinion), Lance & Agatha, take FOREVER to show up. Lance never appeared in the anime until Master Quest, and Agatha didn't show up until the very end of Advanced Battle. No kidding.

Kekeke. I watched the Pokemon anime simply because I wanted to see the Pokemon moving and using their attacks. And then, like, Pokemon Stadium came out. And that was awesome. Especially when you could get that Dodrio tower thing and speed up the game REALLY FAST.
But, yeah, it irks me too how the anime fails to stick with that whole "Gotta catch 'em all" calling card they've been using for over 10 years.

I was excited for the movie staring the GSC characters...but that changed my mind when I saw what they did to them. They turn the first playable girl into an annoying little twit whom you can hardly call a trainer at all because she's more focused on modeling and celebrities in capes than she is on improving her skills in battle. Gold/Ethan became some cliche, dense, typical anime boy with a cheesy arse catch phrase. Manga counter parts > Anime counter parts. Period.
Ash is an idiot for reasons other than being a lousy trainer. He relies on dumb luck to win his battles, he thinks any word that goes beyond three syllables is a type of Pokemon, plus he doesn't know when to shut his f**king mouth.
Also you can't characterize Ash as Sandpaper, that's being too nice to him. Ash is more like weed (bad for your health, kills brain cells every time it appears, and there are idiots who will lynch you if you insult him.)
i love the first season of the anime, but then... it gone a lot of seasons now and it's all the same plot over and over. I wish that they had at LEAST left ash in kanto and introduce the other player characters as main heroes. Lucas and... brandon(?) haven't even showed up 'cept for a few intros! and apparently ash stole blacks clothes in the new season.
@Curlywurly666 I hate them after season 1. honestly the Rubber Robos in Medabots are better: - they actually progress, get close to their goal, don't use obvious masks and cheap tricks, and one their boss lost the final fight, the team disbanded and wanted a new life. Why the hell does team rocket spend 12 seasons just to stalk a 10 year-old boy for 1 common pokemon. Just because YOU lose to Pikachu doesn't mean it's unstoppable...it's just means you suck.
The biggest mistake that could have been done is introducing the anime to the U.S. a month before the games, hence anything Pokemon related being a laughingstock outside of Japan.
@Link4587452 The anime is terrible and hardly follows the manga with every episode feeling like a filler. The only plus sides to it IMO was the theme songs up to Hoen (hoen and after the themes sucked balls) With the anime coming before the games it introduced a lot of plot holes and inconsistencies like Ash's electric attacks beating Rhyhorn with a direct attack to it's horn.
On halloween me and my firends sat around watched some pokemon movie it had dawn in it and that hedgehog bush pokemon... yeah pretty much the scaryest thing we watched

Dude I completely agree about everything. I mean have you noticed that in D/P the only pokemon he actually 'properly' caught was Starly. The others 'decided' to come with him.
The only thing I think you missed was that whenever Ash starts training in a new land (Hoenn, Sinnoh, etc) he becomes such a pathetic trainer. For example he came in the top 8 for Hoenn's pokemon league but when he gets to Sinnoh he loses to the first gym leader immediatly!

Personally, I like the manga, show and games. I love them all in different ways. The games are great fun because, well, they are fun to play and it's when you can actually try to "Catch the all." The show I wouldn't say it's the best with action and not exactly the best characters, but the pokemon show is also a bit more of a comedy and some people still have fun watching it. The manga, I agree is a lot better than the anime with the plot and characters. I love the anime, manga, and games.
i would proudly say that i'm a true die hard fan of pokemon ever since i first heard about it. now think about this: Ash actually wants to become the world's best trainer hence "pokemon master" catching all of the pokemon is just a way to show off. think about this too: how many of your pokemon are in level 100? the more you catch, the more time its gonna take to get them strong. besides if the anime was bout catching pkmn then the series woulda ended quick. any questions bout pkmn come 2 me!!!

Fillers can be funny yes but not as BORING as Naruto's or Pokemon diamond and peal's. The ORIGINAL pokemon + Jhoto was entertainment even with the cheezy events. Pokemon lost it's backbone when Misty dropped out. After her absence all I see is Pairings with Him + May and/or Dawn, it's like their his hoes he trades in. Misty kept ash in-line so he wouldn't be such a dumbass. Brock had knowledge and misty gave him strategy tips, MAY mostly whines and doesn't know WTF is going on in a battle

Personally, I like the manga, show and games. I love them all in different ways. The games are great fun because, well, they are fun to play and it's when you can actually try to "Catch the all."
