ese dicho no se puede poner en practica en la musica y te dire por q. por q para los que tocan guitarra electrica como yo es complicado agarrar una guitarrra clasica o flamenca por el estudio de la mano derecha te lo digo por q yo la guitarra electrica la agarro por donde quiera y siempre em sale bien todo, pero cuando agarre la clasica, sin mentirte me rei de mi mismo y hasta me decepcione ahora ya la domino pero pro q he pasado mucho tiempo con ella, asi que ojo ahi hay un respeto

Ambos guitarristas son estupendos porque me imagino que ese evento y/o recital no creo que haya sido realizado con la intención de competencia, realmente fue por el espectáculo que debió ser el tener a ambos maestros juntos sobre un mismo escenario. Punto. Cada quien en su genero es maestro.

Concuerdo en que como paco de lucia no hay casi nadie...ni Carlos se compara,no kiere decir que no es fenomenal...pero el maestro de Lucia,es cosa de otro mundo,el si sabe lo que es sacarle el jugo a una guitarra.

Why would you want that? Carlos is out of his element here. Put in a Les Paul in Paco's hands, and in front of a great Latin rhythm section. Perhaps he might not get as much out of a single note as Carlos. Great music should have more to do with communicating to listeners, giving goosebumps, making one want to dance, cry, etc., than with blowing another musician off the stage. But I agree video is ridiculously short - just a tease.

What does that mean..."Carlos is not a fraction of the player Paco is"? It's apples and oranges. My point was - sure, playing acoustic, Flamenco guitar, Paco is the more formidable player - hands down. But, when Carlos does HIS thing - lyrical, blues-influenced improv electric guitar over Latin rhythms, he's untouchable. His concept is totally different - bent tones, sustained notes, simple harmonic vocab but fabulous phrasing. Carlos' "voice" is identifiable/unmistakable.

Carlos has been around for a while, his music runs deep to some but to me he is not that great by any means, he's average at best. Bottom line, way overrated even by blues standards. No. Carlos didn't get "pwned" It was never a competition, so nobody "pwned" nobody. Also, Carlos didn't felt like a novice. Carlos was in Woodstock in '69 and Hendrix told to all newspapers in that time how great and amazing Carlos was. Of course, over time he slowed down and lost speed and got tired. Hell, that's absolutely normal.
Also, One plays jazz/blues, the other plays classical/flamenco. So there's no need AT ALL to compare this geniuses. Both on their own, geniuses.

En cierta ocasión tuve la suerte de estar en una reunión privada en la que Carlos y Paco tocaron para unos amigos de verdad fue un sueño, oír a Carlos tocar entre dos Aguas y a Paco Samba pa ti cada uno en su estilo. Dejemos las comparaciones TODAS son odiosas.
No cabe comparación por que el toque e interpretación es tan distinto como una polca a blues, nada que ver, el que no conoce la dificultad del toque y el estilo de Paco de Lucia es porque jamás ha tocado una guitarra flamenca, por eso se atreve a comparar y ofender a ambos a Santana y a Paco de Lucia.
Santana es un músico cuyo prestigio nadie pondrá en duda y al que admiro, Paco de lucia es un genio, en el flamenco ha innovado el concepto del toque, ha creado escuela, no.
sin embargo en su mismo instrumento estan guitarristas como fran gambale,pat metheny,eric jhonson y algunos que no me gustan como ( steve vai,petrucci,) que santana no les llega ni en años luz, asi que si es por comparar en su guitarra electrica pues hay una lista quiza de unos miles que lo superan. sin embargo hay que recordar que la mayoria de la gente no conoce de musica y cualquier cosita simpatica les parece genial

Que empeño tiene la gente en buscar el mejor en algo. Todos los grandes guitarristas en todos los estilos tiene algo en comun y es que están constantemente mejorando y sobre todo aprendiendo, el que no lo hace no puede considerarse ni siquiera bueno. Además para gustos los colores a mi me gustan canciones de los dos, tambien me gusta Pantera, Bad Religion, The Cure, Amaral... cuando una cancion es buena es buena...

Pobres cerdos, aun no comprendo porque se empeñan en pelear y ponerse en contra. Ambos guitarristas son estupendos porque me imagino que ese evento y/o recital no creo que haya sido realizado con la intención de competencia, realmente fue por el espectáculo que debió ser el tener a ambos maestros juntos sobre un mismo escenario. Punto. Cada quien en su genero es maestro.

Saw Santana last Sunday night. First saw him 30 years ago when I was 18 in Newcastle, England. Last weekend I took my 18 year old son to see him for the first time. It was epic. Carlos still looks like he loves what he does for a living.

I have no doubts Paco could master anything beyond what most could no matter what style he applied himself to. That man is a natural, pure and simple. I haven't heard anything by Carlos that I could say the same. Of course there is no accounting for taste.

Why would you want that? Carlos is out of his element here. Put in a Les Paul in Paco's hands, and in front of a great Latin rhythm section. Perhaps he might not get as much out of a single note as Carlos. Great music should have more to do with communicating to listeners, giving goosebumps, making one want to dance, cry, etc., than with blowing another musician off the stage. But I agree video is ridiculously short - just a tease.

My point was - sure, playing acoustic, Flamenco guitar, Paco is the more formidable player - hands down. But, when Carlos does HIS thing - lyrical, blues-influenced improv electric guitar over Latin rhythms, he's untouchable. His concept is totally different - bent tones, sustained notes, simple harmonic vocab but fabulous phrasing. Carlos' "voice" is identifiable/unmistakable.

Carlos has been around for a while, his music runs deep to some but to me he is not that great by any means, he's average at best. Bottom line, way overrated even by blues standards. I'm not trying to be insulting by any means, just expressing my opinion. Paco on the other hand is on a level of his own, he is truly untouchable.

Los dos tienen habilidades diferentes. Apuesto a que Paco no puede hacer los mil y un bends que Santana es capaz de hacer con la electrica, pero Santana no puede hacer hacer tremolos, ni alzapua, ni ayudado, etc. Imposible compararlos, los dos son buenos.

No. Carlos didn't get "pwned" It was never a competition, so nobody "pwned" nobody. Also, Carlos didn't felt like a novice. Carlos was in Woodstock in '69 and Hendrix told to all newspapers in that time how great and amazing Carlos was. Of course, over time he slowed down and lost speed and got tired. Hell, that's absolutely normal.
Also, One plays jazz/blues, the other plays classical/flamenco. So there's no need AT ALL to compare this geniuses. Both on their own, geniuses.

En cierta ocasión tuve la suerte de estar en una reunión privada en la que Carlos y Paco tocaron para unos amigos de verdad fue un sueño, oír a Carlos tocar entre dos Aguas y a Paco Samba pa ti cada uno en su estilo. Dejemos las comparaciones TODAS son odiosas.

No cabe comparación por que el toque e interpretación es tan distinto como una polca a blues, nada que ver, el que no conoce la dificultad del toque y el estilo de Paco de Lucia es porque jamás ha tocado una guitarra flamenca, por eso se atreve a comparar y ofender a ambos a Santana y a Paco de Lucia.

sin embargo en su mismo instrumento estan guitarristas como fran gambale,pat metheny,eric jhonson y algunos que no me gustan como ( steve vai,petrucci,) que santana no les llega ni en años luz, asi que si es por comparar en su guitarra electrica pues hay una lista quiza de unos miles que lo superan. sin embargo hay que recordar que la mayoria de la gente no conoce de musica y cualquier cosita simpatica les parece genial

pongo a paco de lucia a aprender a tocar guitarra electrica solo un año y superaria en años luz a santana... sin embargo pongo a santana a tocar flamenco y solo volviendo a nacer y empezando de muy niño quiza toque a un buen nivel y no creo que como paco... porque igual en el flamenco hay mchos que empezaron de niños y no llegan al nivel de paco

Que empeño tiene la gente en buscar el mejor en algo. Todos los grandes guitarristas en todos los estilos tiene algo en comun y es que están constantemente mejorando y sobre todo aprendiendo, el que no lo hace no puede considerarse ni siquiera bueno. Además para gustos los colores a mi me gustan canciones de los dos, tambien me gusta Pantera, Bad Religion, The Cure, Amaral... cuando una cancion es buena es buena...

Que la musica no es una competencia. Nadie gana, nadie pierde, nadie llega primero , no es pista de autos a ver quein va mas rapido, La musica es eso, la musica, Lo que se debe escuchar es el proposito de ella: el conjunto de notas y contapuntos y armonias que nos provocan emociones.
