Didn't know there was a video for this song which I love. It's great. Like the Kinks influenced video from their 1966 "Dead End Street" one of the world's 1st ever videos. It's brilliant. Love the Kinks. Oasis has always worn their influences on their sleeve. Love or hate it. For myself , I love it. All & all it's just entertainment that we can chose or not. For me it's in my favorites. Looks like Rhys Ifans to me in this. Looks good in it. There are ugly monsters than pop music to hate on.

Well, I'll just investigate the bands you've just been listening to...

Rush is cool and a great band, Mastodon is beginner metal and somewhat average compared to other prog/sludge metal bands like Neurosis.

Murderdolls really do suck(IMO), mostly due to how generic they are and their nu-metal influence.

Slipknot sucks (IMO). Having seen them live this year and having listened to their albums they are really just generic nu-metal with a lot of members and crap lyrics

Slipknot are Nu-Metal. Slow, downtuned guitars with influences from electronic music and the typical semi-shout vocal delivery. Mastodon, while using elements of prog, particularly in song structure. Also, considering the number of hooks in The Hunter as a whole they are CURRENTLY a fairly accessible metal band. While I may not be as good a guitarist as Brent or Bill, there are bands that make much more technical music, like Nevermore and Blotted Science.

@Madbutcher305 No shit sherlock, and just because they downtune their guitars and have a DJ deck doesn't make them nu-metal. Any industrial or alternative metal could do that if they wanted. They've just made up their own thing and stay away from labels because labels are stupid. And the hunter isn't their best work even though it's amazing; or their most technical so there is no use to comparing them with that. My favourite album by them is Leviathan. Besides, don't argue. You have good taste.

Also, I'd rather listen to lyrics that are more of the Mastodon style than the ones done by Slipknot simply because there is more thought put into them and they aren't deliberately aimed at particular audiences.

Also, compare Mastodon to Neurosis or a grind, death (maybe the eponymous band is the best example), or prog metal band (say, Psychotic Waltz, for an obscure example). For the most part, Mastodon is less extreme/technical/proggy.

An absolute stonker of a video. I remember when I first saw this video how impressed I was with the whole concept of the undertaker talking about how his life is simple and how it takes a lot of soul to do something in life hence the lyric 'i can't get a life if my hearts not in it.' Also the video for me has reminded me of what life was like in the north of england because I stayed there when I was a little kid with my uncle and aunt and it's exactly like that. Best Oasis video/song for me.
