I love this tune. I thought it was by Bill Lee though? I arranged this tune with one by Abdullah Ibrahim and will put it on my next album when I get the licence clearance!
i love this...it almost makes me cry to listen to this...i kinda think i fucked up things with my girlfriend and wanna make all good and i suffer now like hell and this track's just keeps me goin',i feel like it expresses a lot of what i feel now
@mvdv65 If you mean Don McLean's "Vincent", I always thought that those first notes weren't that special. I mean, it's a good song, but it's not strange to see two persons come up with that bit separately.
Jazz... one of the most addicting genres of music. This is probably my most favored song out of all of those out there Is so better especailly at 2:55 when they both play together
you practice to be the absolute best and then you play this song!.... all that practice to play the simplest song the best. and do it all the justice it deserves.
Isn't that what he was tryin to do w/ Bullworth - using a commercial drum beat in a jazz setting. gotta to admit Bullworth is way more complex than this
Fantastic! Simple but fantastic. my only complaint is that they play it a bit fast, it would be perfect if they would play it a bit slower. that would make it really relaxing.
Just checked and nobody has uploaded the version of mo betta blues mentioned earlier in my last comment. Probably means I'm the only one that appreciates it.
Spike Lee hands down ALWAYS has the best soundtracks and scores of any director out there!!!

This was the first jazz song I ever learned on my alto when I was like 12. Good times, good music, good memories.

Hi!
I've worked out the head to this but could someone give me complete chords for the backing chords (with inversions and flattened 7ths etc)
Cheers,
And great tune :)

Very pretty.

I've been transcribing this for tenor sax.
It is in the Key of the E flat pentatonic scale.
the main melody is:
Eb, F, Ab, Bb, C
Bb, C, Bb, Ab, F (2x)
Bb, C, Bb, F, Ab
It changes a little bit because of the grace notes that he adds in, and a change before the first solo.

He has gone into total obscurity again. You would have thought someone would have used him again.
