LOL, these shorts completely contradict the movie by claiming that Mater DID save Lightning as a fire truck but they're so brilliantly funny! I think Pixar is only making these to keep us anticipated for "Cars 2".

Let's face it.

A single season (around 12-15 eps) of an animated series of the same quality as the movie would be monumentally expensive and would cost more to produce than all the pixar movies combined.

Pixar is more than happy to be producing at a rate of about 1 feature-length film a year

I'm NOT talking about a CG Animated series. I'm talking about a regular animated series. It would not be expensive.

Wouldn't be no different from any other non CG animated series disney has done.

Do the same thing they did with Toy Story > Buzz Lightyear of Star Command.

That would be more practical, granted.

But the thing is I honestly don't see any "TV potential" for Cars and I don't think many Studios see any as well. There's just not enough material to expand upon to make a decent series.

And of course if they do make a 2D animated TV series, everyone will constantly compare it to the movie and that will only produce negative criticism.

Buzz Lightyear didn't have that problem because they completely separated the series from the source material

Yeah, Cars would not work very good as an animated series. Now if they did that with "The Incredibles" it would probably be great, but it's better not to risk messing up any more great Pixar films with unesseccary TV shows.
