    How has the engine held up with the Turbo? I have a 99 SiR, and love it, plan to keep it for as long as possible. I'm really curious to see how much abuse the B16a2 can take, and how durable it is.

  • i got passed by one of these shitboxes on 95 in georgia, i was doing 80 mph in my 98 supra rz, i gunned it and quickyly caught him and passed him doing 170mph, he was flashing his lights at me after i went by, as i started to slow down i realized it was an unmaked state cop, back up over 200mph, SEE YAA!

  • With the B16a your supposed to shift at 8500RPMS not 9... unless you have something special under the hood...

  • @GorpoBR Fair enough the springs (im guessing you mean valve springs by head springs) are safe up to that speed but usually the stock redlines set at whatever they are because thats the limit the rest of the internals are balanced to spin at such as the crank ect....

  • @35Berrin apparently this kid knows more about B-series motors than you, its common knowledge that upgraded valve springs raise your rev/rpm limit, and its even more common for ppl to upgrade their valve train when boosting so its obvious why he is shifting at such high rpm. do yourself a favor, go read up on the B16A cause apparently you havent learned shit in 3 years

  • Well....is think this is verry fast and i didnt hear any wheelspin!?? Normally with FWD and that much power you have wheelspin in 1st and 2nd. Good job done! :-D

  • You only need to have good semi slick tires like mine: Yokohama Advan A048r. The B16a motor don't have much tq under 6000rpm, so I launch at 5000rpm and as you can see the tires handle all the power and even my rpm stalled because of all the traction of these tires.

  • How's the mileage when you do that? (9000RPM) :P I'm actually pretty curious. I've never pushed mine above 5K but pushed my friend's Porsche to 8K. Then again I only drive a Honda CRV.

  • This stock motor rev up to 8200rpm, so with the right mods it is normal to push up to 9000rpm. My motor have 75k milles

  • This is enough for me and for my stock block 1.6L turbocharged @ 7.5psi. Running every day with this config for 4 years and never had any motor problem.

  • @sgouvaios , u cant mix b series with d series tranny, unless you get custom bell housing made!!, look for a s80 LSD Tranny from a 98- Integra R, they have a 4.7 final drive and nice long gears

  • If you look at my dyno graph, it makes poer up to 8500rpm, and pushing it to 9000 rpm, when I change to the next gear, it drops at a good point at the power line

  • Nice set up for 3 years strong. I think many people are mislead-ed by overboosting their motors. Its not about pushing 22lbs or more but boosting the right amount while having drive-ability and pushing the most out without damaging/wearing the motor quickly.

  • @dexderpl How can you say that when u have no idea of his setup and turbo. Psi is only relative to the diferent turbo, exhaust, boost pipes fmic etc and type of applicaiton it is setup for. So yeh.. good post.

  • @dexderpl yah this is a pretty stupid comment. you obviosuly know nothing about A. cars in general, or B. these cars in particular. i have a b20 turbo that makes 250 on 7 psi. this car could easily push 300 given the right circumstances. but 248 is very acheivable for what the description says. so stfu

  • I'm a fan of a good Honda (ITR), and a fan of a good Bimmer (3series). It seems to me, people who only like or dislike a car based on its badge aren't true "car people". Good engineering=performance, and good marketing=branding... so the question is, art thou a poser, or art thou a driver :)

    Oh and just fyi, BMW doesn't make "V"6s, they are straight or inline configuration, and the last 6cylinder M5 was from 15 years ago... '98 E39 was V8, '05 E60 was V10, and the next one will be Turbo V8
