Doing Taichi form is to know oneself, doing Pushing hands is to know someone else. This is a good training like Aikido. We can find ourselves and to know how we do the appropriate feedback calmly, facing danger.Thank you very much to show me this. I will find someplace to do my Aiki Tachi outdoor like this.
@xoenhit Sanshou means "to counter" in Chinese. Yes, real fighting can be done this way. However, neither of these 2 people are even near the title of "master", nor are they trying to hurt each other. Not only that, but I can even see that these people have not matured in their forms. I take Shaolin, and the only way you are allowed to progress is once you mature. I have matured in quite a few moves and am able to take down most people. And, most forms are based on against someone your size.
Granted, the intention may not be there, but you can see especially as they get moving around 1:41 that they know that there is something at stake. But i'm not defending them. You can definitely see the tradeoff of balance moving back and forth which is awesome.
I do tai chi and use it to fight. When I face a Muay Thai fighter, beleive me, I do not use this crap shown above. Maybe these guys are trying to learn a ballet hybrid.
I do a variation of this form, learned from a different school. There can be great martial intention in the form. I use this form primarily to learn application from the solo form.

it is not how fighting is done, but it is an important practicing method for gaining a specific skillset

no this is the yang 88 form... each one does a mirror image of the 44 steps. just a demonstration.. still, they're well practised.
i practice taiji, and definitely do not fight this way in a real fight or sparring situation. however, i can safely say taiji IS effective.
