@MrDontstareitsrude All movies based on true stories are never 100% accurate. Linda should be ashamed of herself for allowing Hollywood to cash in on her late great husband like that with all kinds of fictional bullshits in this flick. MEGA THUMBS DOWN FOR ME, EXTRA PLEASE!!!
@grumpypant You know, I was thinking something similar first... but remember that hollywoods job is to create dreams and fictions and sells that out. For ssomeone like Linda, being able to give something to the world about the great Bruce is something good. For hollywood, to make an interesting movie, it must include some fictional bullshit in it. So in a sense, I can live with it even if its not 100% accurate.
I hate this fuckin' movie! One reason being is that the "Bruce" portrayed in this flick looks exactly the same throughout the whole movie where as Bruce Lee's appearances changed slightly throughout his adult life...

@dragonbruceleeehsan haha no shit, its titled Dragon: the bruce lee story for a reason, because its a movie made on his life that was made in the mid to late '90s

It's Fri.June25,2010, 09:26.The BLstory is on AMC."info" reads,Based on the life of the martial artis from HongKong who found fame as a movie star living in dange.1st of all BL ! In danger?!Only if you get him on the sneaktip...2. AMC prgram director? ! Bruce Lee was born in SanFrancisco !!! Hell he was almost half German.
thank you for putting me on the right path. the journey of 10,000 steps is a a hard one. the first is the most hard. the last is not physical. i am still working on the last. but, i would not have been able to do this if bruce lee didn't risk all, for all of us!
They need to make a TRUE Bruce Lee movie... one that actually followed his life and doesn't add a bunch of bullshit and twist the truth like this one did. Such a shame to insult this man with such bullshit... fuken tasteless Hollywood!
@rupscee well he never broke his back in the fight against Wong Jack Man; he never broke his back period. He injured it lifting weights. The outcome of the fight to this day is disputed, but this is where the legend comes in. Bruce never wrote "Tao of Jeet Kune Do" while he was alive... his notes and writings were collected after his death and made into a book by his wife and friend.
@rupscee I wondered that myself... I don't know how much she collaborated with the producers on the story or if she even had anything to do with the film. I wonder if she just doesn't want to get involved to protect the family's privacy. I hope one day though she endorses a film or documentary that really define's Bruce Lee's legacy.
@rupscee I think it was just symbolic of the "family curse", although I vaguely remember reading something about Bruce having very intense nightmares growing up and maybe into his adulthood, but I can't say for certain. If that's true the writers probably used that as inspiration for the demon scenes.
@jestersfrown I hear but I don't know how credible it is, that Bruce Lee's sister wants to make a movie about him. She was disapointed when she saw the Chinese tv series about him called The Legend of Bruce Lee. If she does pull it off, it will be the most realistic Bruce Lee biographical movie/show made. She was upset that the tv series didn't get the "little" things right let alone the major things. They had Bruce riding a bike when Bruce never learned to ride one.
@CaIlidus I don't know, but if he did, I would assume that it was once he started staying in the states real heavy. He adopted alot of techniques native to the areas he visited or stayed, so he may have learned to ride a bike but his sister probably never new he did.
@rupscee The whole demon hallucinations were a joke and the movie never really delves into the idea of JKD. JKD was the very essence of Bruce's philosophy! It was who he was. That REAL fight during the movie shoot was BS too!
This movie while had good intentions all it has done was confuse more people about the real Bruce Lee. Most of the things in this movie are added in, and lots of stuff that really happened has been left out.
I am hoping that one day someone will make a REAL movie without the HOLLYWOOD bullshit added drama about Bruce Lee and his struggles and what he accomplished!
@actionmanrandell he did in fact brake his back in a tournament a long time ago well fighting i donut think im right it might was a herniated disc but he did not pull a nerve
@196232008 you do not know a damn thing i have read countless books on the subject and have watched nearly every documentary on bruce lee he never broke his back ever.. he puled a nerve in his back never once did any of his books that he wrote say he broke his back infact in several of them he stated he was attempting to do a good-morning (an exersize) which pulled the nerve
@actionmanrandell You obviously never seen "The legend of bruce lee", because you sir, don't know a damn thing- he did break his back. It was a cheap shot after his opponent's master through the white towel out. He was paralyzed for about three years, according to a biography written by his wife, Linda.
@phatrobot You are the one who doesn't know what you're talking about. If you had read the biography you are talking about you would know that actionmanrandell is correct. He strained a nerve severely while doing an exercise he called a "good morning". No broken back, no cheap shot, not tournament.
Read the book if you are going to act like you have. Seriously. "The legend of Bruce Lee" is just another "DRAMATISATION" of his life. Where they add in stuff when they didn't need too.
@actionmanrandell You obviously never seen "The Legend of Bruce Lee", because you sir, don't know a damn thing- he did break his back. It was a cheap shot after his opponent's master threw the white towel out. He was paralyzed for about three years, according to a biography written by his wife, Linda.
actionmanrandell knows what he is talking about. He is what you would call "educated" on what he is talking about. Where the guys who are disputing the things he is saying are just either guessing, or making stuff up as you go along, or believe a silly dramatisations of a mans life that was full of drama and excitement enough to not need the extra bullshit they put into it when it comes to movies/series/stories about him.
@thorsbass you do know that entire plot was made up the real fight lasted about 5 minits and mostly consisted of bruce chasing the guy until he grabbed him and beat him to the ground he never broke his back he did pull a nerv in his back which made it so he couldnt work out or train for a few months but no back break or anything like that
i cant remember which documentary it was but people who use to work with bruce have seen bruce fight a lot of times off set during his filming. a lot of martial artists use to come up and challenge him. and a lot of them got there ass beaten lol. Sad to say but none his fights were ever recorded. Bolo Yeoung from enter the dragon and bloodsport "YOU ARE NEXT!!" LMAO challenged him once or twice and got his ass kicked. thats whats so good about bruce, he never bragged about his real fights.
there isn't any footage cause these fights were last minute when people challenged him or attacked him. And martial artists tournaments weren't really popular back in the 60's so none were really filmed. Bruce made martial artists extremely popular with his movies
i heard of the big boss scene is a true afterwards he beat the guy he was like lets get back to work lol but i have googled and wickpedia and no footage of him fighting for real just footage of his one inch punch
@ronjr77 because that never happened in real life and they have footage of him sparring in books writen dirrectly by lee he states that most of the stories of him getting into fights on the sets of movies are made up and most of them never took place
ooooh shit....lmao...i use to have the VHS when i was like 16..i use to laugh my ass off at that part everytime...even tho its a movie he whipped ol boi ass...lol..
no they arent those were way better than todays martial arts todays martial arts one have special affects and everything but bruce lees was real except on fist of fury or chinese connection when he kicked suzuki that far you could tell he was wired but on way of the dragon when he broke chucks arm not for real but that was nuthin but speed you have to go frame by frame just to see bruce do it thats how fast brucey broke chucks arm on the movie
@ELIELLISE actually many people were fast enough to have to slow down back then infact bruce and a student of his were sparring and bruce did a biu jaw on him which is a finger jab to the eye well his student said damn your fast and bruce told him no im not and that he has seen many fighters who were faster then him
Btw, loved this movie, but I wish they wouldn't have added in all of the fictional parts. I can understand the fight scenes, but when I read the biography of Bruce Lee, it didn't say anything about Johnny Sun...

thank you for putting me on the right path. the journey of 10,000 steps is a a hard one. the first is the most hard. the last is not physical. i am still working on the last. but, i would not have been able to do this if bruce lee didn't risk all, for all of us!

wow bruce lee is just amazing

They need to make a TRUE Bruce Lee movie... one that actually followed his life and doesn't add a bunch of bullshit and twist the truth like this one did. Such a shame to insult this man with such bullshit... fuken tasteless Hollywood!
jestersfrown 1 year ago
@jestersfrown what bullshit did they add to his life?
rupscee 1 year ago
@rupscee well he never broke his back in the fight against Wong Jack Man; he never broke his back period. He injured it lifting weights. The outcome of the fight to this day is disputed, but this is where the legend comes in. Bruce never wrote "Tao of Jeet Kune Do" while he was alive... his notes and writings were collected after his death and made into a book by his wife and friend.
jestersfrown 1 year ago
@jestersfrown then why didnt his wife say anything about the film being full of crap/
rupscee 1 year ago
@rupscee I wondered that myself... I don't know how much she collaborated with the producers on the story or if she even had anything to do with the film. I wonder if she just doesn't want to get involved to protect the family's privacy. I hope one day though she endorses a film or documentary that really define's Bruce Lee's legacy.
jestersfrown 1 year ago
@jestersfrown what was the whole story about the dream, about those demon things?
its been years since i watched Dragon, I cant really remember.
rupscee 1 year ago
@rupscee I think it was just symbolic of the "family curse", although I vaguely remember reading something about Bruce having very intense nightmares growing up and maybe into his adulthood, but I can't say for certain. If that's true the writers probably used that as inspiration for the demon scenes.
jestersfrown 1 year ago
@jestersfrown I hear but I don't know how credible it is, that Bruce Lee's sister wants to make a movie about him. She was disapointed when she saw the Chinese tv series about him called The Legend of Bruce Lee. If she does pull it off, it will be the most realistic Bruce Lee biographical movie/show made. She was upset that the tv series didn't get the "little" things right let alone the major things. They had Bruce riding a bike when Bruce never learned to ride one.
TheBaltimoreKnight 1 year ago
@TheBaltimoreKnight
I thought Bruce had a schedule and riding a bike was one of them??
CaIlidus 1 year ago
@CaIlidus I don't know, but if he did, I would assume that it was once he started staying in the states real heavy. He adopted alot of techniques native to the areas he visited or stayed, so he may have learned to ride a bike but his sister probably never new he did.
TheBaltimoreKnight 1 year ago
@rupscee The whole demon hallucinations were a joke and the movie never really delves into the idea of JKD. JKD was the very essence of Bruce's philosophy! It was who he was. That REAL fight during the movie shoot was BS too!
jestersfrown 1 year ago
i hate when fucking chinamen pretend to be Bruce Lee. Its just not the same. He abusing the screaming and scratching his nose much.

CaptCoochKicker 1 year ago
This movie while had good intentions all it has done was confuse more people about the real Bruce Lee. Most of the things in this movie are added in, and lots of stuff that really happened has been left out.
I am hoping that one day someone will make a REAL movie without the HOLLYWOOD bullshit added drama about Bruce Lee and his struggles and what he accomplished!

@actionmanrandell he did in fact brake his back in a tournament a long time ago well fighting i donut think im right it might was a herniated disc but he did not pull a nerve
196232008 1 year ago
@196232008 you do not know a damn thing i have read countless books on the subject and have watched nearly every documentary on bruce lee he never broke his back ever.. he puled a nerve in his back never once did any of his books that he wrote say he broke his back infact in several of them he stated he was attempting to do a good-morning (an exersize) which pulled the nerve
actionmanrandell 1 year ago
@actionmanrandell You obviously never seen "The legend of bruce lee", because you sir, don't know a damn thing- he did break his back. It was a cheap shot after his opponent's master through the white towel out. He was paralyzed for about three years, according to a biography written by his wife, Linda.
phatrobot 1 year ago
@phatrobot You are the one who doesn't know what you're talking about. If you had read the biography you are talking about you would know that actionmanrandell is correct. He strained a nerve severely while doing an exercise he called a "good morning". No broken back, no cheap shot, not tournament.
Read the book if you are going to act like you have. Seriously. "The legend of Bruce Lee" is just another "DRAMATISATION" of his life. Where they add in stuff when they didn't need too.
tjprodigy 1 year ago
@tjprodigy oh never mind i didnt read all of ur comments until now

actionmanrandell knows what he is talking about. He is what you would call "educated" on what he is talking about. Where the guys who are disputing the things he is saying are just either guessing, or making stuff up as you go along, or believe a silly dramatisations of a mans life that was full of drama and excitement enough to not need the extra bullshit they put into it when it comes to movies/series/stories about him.
tjprodigy 1 year ago
@tjprodigy im alittle confused are u being sarcastic or are u agreeing with me
actionmanrandell 1 year ago
@thorsbass you do know that entire plot was made up the real fight lasted about 5 minits and mostly consisted of bruce chasing the guy until he grabbed him and beat him to the ground he never broke his back he did pull a nerv in his back which made it so he couldnt work out or train for a few months but no back break or anything like that

i cant remember which documentary it was but people who use to work with bruce have seen bruce fight a lot of times off set during his filming. a lot of martial artists use to come up and challenge him. and a lot of them got there ass beaten lol. Sad to say but none his fights were ever recorded. Bolo Yeoung from enter the dragon and bloodsport "YOU ARE NEXT!!" LMAO challenged him once or twice and got his ass kicked. thats whats so good about bruce, he never bragged about his real fights.
xSLeviNx 2 years ago
@xSLeviNx actually bolo and bruce never faught bolo is an expert in tai chi his entire martial arts career has been about cultivating his own mind
actionmanrandell 2 years ago
They say Bruce Lee was always fighting in real life but there is no footage of his fights only demonstrations. Anyone know of any real fight footage?
LaoboyardEE 2 years ago
there isn't any footage cause these fights were last minute when people challenged him or attacked him. And martial artists tournaments weren't really popular back in the 60's so none were really filmed. Bruce made martial artists extremely popular with his movies
Colton5 2 years ago
he did have real fights but they weren't staged lol

Tubeite 2 years ago
no they arent those were way better than todays martial arts todays martial arts one have special affects and everything but bruce lees was real except on fist of fury or chinese connection when he kicked suzuki that far you could tell he was wired but on way of the dragon when he broke chucks arm not for real but that was nuthin but speed you have to go frame by frame just to see bruce do it thats how fast brucey broke chucks arm on the movie
ELIELLISE 2 years ago
@ELIELLISE actually many people were fast enough to have to slow down back then infact bruce and a student of his were sparring and bruce did a biu jaw on him which is a finger jab to the eye well his student said damn your fast and bruce told him no im not and that he has seen many fighters who were faster then him
