DUDE!!! Are you for real? Turn this shit off....you call that surround?!?!?!?! You "NEED" to surround yourself with better camera equipment. I'm getting sea sick trying to watch you video. I know this is a year old. But this is still old tech. And dude do you think you are close enough to the tv?!?!? You must think you home is Universal Studios or something? The only other thing that looks good is the vase on top of the entertainment center. You get a better camera then better rates
dude the pc is way too loud .. in a home theatre pc you should invest in a passive cooled graphics card or if you also wanna play on it invest in a silent fan like scythe or go with a water cooled system! This is the best solution i think.. but great video would love to watch a movie with that gear ! ... ah yeah and like the others said ... better cam next time =P looks like iphone cam ^^
deluxedookie not true. On linux the virus would have to be for that specific distro, and even then it would be a pain to get it executed. Linux viruses are not simple, and plus linux users have better things to do then write malicious code.
yes vista sux. home basic maybe. u should install ultimate and see the difference. unless ur 12 ofc. I've been a developer and almost all applications (64-bit specially) works much more stable and faster. sorry bro, but ur moron. the last thing in software is look. Probably u know no shit about computers.
ME is not better than anything. vista pwn when it comes to home theater, xp good if you have a weaker pc or business. linux does pwn all just not everyone knows unix commands.
only prob with vista it eats alof of memory but most pc's these days have 8 gigs so that a shitty excuse
i own a computer anyway, its cheaper to just have good hardware in it and also have a fast computer that is better than the consoles. if a game comes out that others talk aobut for the consoles i can play those and still talk about them and theres pc exclusives.
Not to be so mean, but you should have saved a little bit of money for an HD Video Camera.
Also, cause I do this for a living...make about a 2" hole on the wall behind the TV, and one down below on the wall behind the PC. And just fish the wires (one at a time) through. It will look 1000X better and more professional with that clean look no wires hanging.
you should run the cables behind your wall. its not that hard. just carefully make a hole behind your tv and another below it, where its out of sight, then put a pull rod through it so it comes out of the other end and tape whatever cables you want to one end and pull through. then just buy wallplates to make holes look nicer (even though no one can see them), and youre pretty much all set. your tv is probably on two studs so in between should be empty; perfect for running cables behind.
people have bitched about desk space as a reason to get an lcd over crt, so they get one, yet some of these same people buy a huge Atx tower with inefficient power draining cpus and video cards along with the lcd, instead of a powerful and energy efficient space saving MINI PC to match with it! real fkn smart people!
I agree somewhat, I like linuxmce and have set it up here at home. But for the average user who needs it to function out of the box linuxmce fails big time. You need a computer geek to get it running right. Vista MCE works really nice, especially with a XBOX360 as a media extender AND it works real nice with ORB.
Yea, I'd like to know too vid poster. Give us some info on the case. Also is it possible for you to do some game testing on your htpc? Idk if you're a gamer, but cod4 will suffice.
Are you a Vista user, or simply a Vista article reader?
Speaking as an actual Vista user, I like the OS. I have no problems with Vista and will be putting Vista Home Premium with Media Center on my next HTPC.
I am a Vista hater. lol jk, but I watched videos and articles of how that OS works. It seems to work well with a fucking nice PC, but if your computer is "just good" it won't. After all, XP will have updates until the year 2014. AND I read an article which says they are planing Windows 7 right now (it seems they don't trust very much in vista)
Windows 7 (also known as Windows or Windows Blackcomb Vienna) is a future version of Microsoft Windows, in all probability, the successor to Windows Vista. Microsoft has confirmed that the development for at least three years to complete will be taking, which the operating system in 2009 or 2010 will be delivered. On July 20, 2007 Microsoft has confirmed that Windows 7th "internal name for the next version of the consumenteneditie Windows
Microsoft starts developing their next operating systems pretty much instantly after the predecessors release. It takes years to develop. I have a dual boot pc with BOTH vista and xp. They are both good operating systems. Unlike other people, I havn't had any problems with vista. I don't know all the confusion people seem to have with it...it works just fine for me. In fact I prefer it. Some people just don't like change I guess.
I can't believe you don't have a HDTV card. That's the best thing about an HTPC. You can record your TV shows in HD. Hauggepauge is a good company or Avermedia. You also need to have an HDMI motherboard so that one wire can cary 1080p/i and sound. Overall good HTPC System I would just add a TV card or two so that you can record multiple shows.
Very nice setup, I just got my 32" Vizio, I have my 360 Elite and PC running WinXP. I love my Vizio TV, I dont have cable yet Im just pulling HD over the air.
Does that Vizio tv play really good in dark? Because i want to get a 42" Vizio but it says "Works well in very well lit rooms." So please let me know.
For PC, are the texts blurry even at 1080p resolution? I'm very interested in the same setup as yours, so I want to know.
