  • What "treat" do you use when training the Military Macaw? Sarge loves Pine nuts, but wondering if something less expensive might work just as well....

  • He works well on sunflower seeds for small behaviors, otherwise we use cashews.

  • Haven't tried cashews, but Sarge loves Pistachios too.

  • @djdevo I use to have a Military Macaw and peanuts work fine like.. just give them the shell and all they'll do the rest.

  • I wish i had a bird like bondi

  • Do galahs love learning new things like that>?

and how do you know when they have had enough?

i need the help im looking into geting one :)

    thanks heeps xXx

  • I'm not an expert like them (Dave, Jamie, Chet ... .. ), but every bird has its own personality and is an individual. Training your bird, improves your relationship with him/her and it builds more trust. The training sessions, well it depends on the bird, because he might get distracted and you have to learn to interpretate his/her body language to make sure he/she wants to pay attention, or wants to stay in his cage, etc. Reading his/her body language can prevent you from getting bit, etc.
