It's because the Miss Universe Organization called Alicia Machado fat. Donald Trump had just bought it and never liked Alicia. I believe the former owners were much better than the current one, they would never say such a thing to their delegates, and they would treat them with dignity. I lived in Hawaii at the time and couldn't believe that she won. She was not nearly as attractive as the runner-up. It just goes to show you if you keep trying you can succeed. She tried to win beauty pageants for years. She then had extreme plastic surgery. She must have been very ordinary looking before the surgery. Believe in yourself!
