@ghostintheshell29 I use psychoactive drugs and own a gun. I have ever shot a living cratue with it. In fact, it is disassembled and the ammunition is separate from the location of the weapon. I think that, like many an idea for legislation, is a bit of a generalization. Why not require users of psychoactive drugs to require a license, therefore putting them in a database? It seems like a better alternative.
Blaming guns for murders is like blaming pencils for spelling mistakes. Y not show the m1 gerand that liberated Europe and defeated the Nazis? Or the flintlock that created this nation? People should have guns for protection in there house and stiff. Also that is what our country was found upon. Farmers going out there with there hunting rifles and fighting for freedom. Also you need guns to hunt I don't know about u but I like to hunt with a gun
@GhostInTheShell29 A very logical argument and probably right. I must be thinking of a perfect world, but in this day and age, not much is perfect! But I pray (and I'm not religious) that there is very few more incidents of kids shooting up their schools. See ya! p.s. Where did you think up "GhostinTheShell"? Tom.
@makjac46 Ghost in The Shell, originally was a manga (graphic novel) later became a movie, then anime series.
The manga, and first movie are rather deep and philisophical.
School shootings. Maybe pass a law you can't keep a gun in your house if someone living there is on psycho-active drugs. Generally school shooters are out their minds on anti-depressants, or behavior controlling drugs. The drugs work for most people but some people react badly to them.
@GhostInTheShell29 A unique name, very good. Whatever reasons for guns kept in a house, to me, seems frivolous as I have never felt the need for a gun, have never needed to kill for food and was happy to hand weapon in when finished service in 1972. In Australia, farmers rarely NEED guns now. They hire professional shooters to be rid of vermin ie; Kangaroos, Dingo's, Wild Pigs etc. But like you say, everyone should have the right to have one or not, but must be tagged and responsible. Cheers.
@makjac46 I live in the UK were guns are illegal to own, and i;d much rather live in country were i could possess a fire arm and have the right to defend myself, my family and my property. You say if no one had guns no one would need them, thats utter crap, theirs plenty of other ways to kill people, as a home defense weapon a gun is fantastic as nobody would try and invade your home unless heavily armed, even with knives or bats, a gun is small, easy to operate and packs a punch.
@Jimmyswan2007 So, If you had a gun and the other person had only a knife, you would be able to defend yourself? But what if the other person had a gun? Bang bang bang, Who won? To be honest , there isn't a correct decision (to have or not to have a gun) You're a sane person, you're given a gun. Joe Blow is a sane person, he's given a gun, but Joe Blow turns bad and uses his gun to be aggressive, or to rob or KILL..
Bang Bang, it's too too easy when everyone has a gun.
@Jimmyswan2007 Guns ARE legal in the UK, and I know plenty of people with licensed firearms. Certain types of firearm are illegal to certain types of people, handguns for instance. A friend of mine recently bought a Mossberg 500 pump action shotgun, legally of course, and I'm from Northern Ireland. Belfast, to be precise.
You just need to get your paperwork, and have either a club to go to, or private land to shoot on. I'd recommend asking a farmer for permission if you can't find a local club!
The Police Special seemed like a cool gun to talk to, he even said "Thanks". I wonder what Richard Pryor's gun sounded like. You know the one he used to shoot out the tires of his own car. Probably Yosemite Sam.
Genius! No one is like Richard Pryor. He will live forever. Always relevant and giving is the blessing of laughter from the deepest parts of ourselves.
@Lulzertank thats coz u dont have an imagination. Go be an Accountant or Doctor or something in those grounds. Stay away from Art Museums...Just a hint as you wont feel anything...Thank me i saved you time.
@Lulzertank Then you missed an interesting intellectual performance. Your bias caused you to see only what you wanted to see, something to get offended about.. not what was shown.
@GhostInTheShell29 I saw nothing intellectual in this 'performance'. Equating a firearm with an ideology or giving it a fictional 'personality' is a scare tactic, and nothing more.
@Lulzertank Umm every cartoon you ever watch give inanimate objects fictional personalities. As humans we ourselves often ascribe personality traits to objects all the time. Cars in particular. Speaking of which the movie cars.
What is the purpose of a gun? Thats what was being asked here. Its not an ideology, or a scare tactic to say guns are designed to kill. What personalities would the guns have if they could talk. I think this was an interesting answer to that question.
Aw give me a break. Guns are used 2.5 million times every year to either SAVE someone's life or to STOP a crime. People need to realize that people are the ones that kill people.
@DanteMcSparda David Icke mixes truth with speculation and Theory. Quantum Mechanics is true as is the mechanics of intention. One could site Democrutus as the 1st person to explain Quantum Theory. But The Egyptions understood it and it is chronicaled in the Life of Jesus.
@Bak3dB3an That is the message, that guns have a mind of their own and commit murders which is why people in some nations choose to put them to death either by melting or sawing them into bits.
Even though this was made in 1977 or something close to it, this remains one of the most biting piece of social commentary. Although i do have to say i could enjoy killing a bad guy every once in a while. Sorta like a boondock saints, except for guys like me.

i don't think it has much to do with guns having any will. more the violence that we pass on from generation to generation. and while we think it can't be stopped...it only takes one to say no more. forget your heros and forget your villains...when we're born into this world we're given a standard that's full of shit, at the end of the day nobody wants to be slandered, raped, robbed, murdered...but that's the order we're given in a lot of cases and a few, manage to see thru it...
@KrykoStorm , yes he had a variety show that was short lived but there were times he attempted to make social statements in his comedy . I know that it took people by surprise.
@AstroDrabb ; If I have to explain how this is one-sided, you cannot be helped, sorry. Yes, I was born in 1968, NEXT! This is an anti-second amendment skit. There, I said it.
Show some respect? To who, exactly? The network? NOPE. To the writers? Hell NO! To Pryor? PLEASE!
GTF off your high horse pal. Pryor was an actor, that is all.
Thomas Edison was a genius with his inventions such as the light bolt which was all based on inspiration by imagination. People that are considered genius use their imagination for inspiration such as Richard Pryor probably that is why he is considered a genius.
@MrPmj1979 I don't know what context you're speaking in, but the first atomic bombs were manufactured by multiple scientists that are/were famous (Enrico Fermi and more), and many more that we will never know of.
Although designed as a weapon, atomic fission can be used for power instead of violence.
Rich was natural with his jokes and certain humorous topics had its own characteristic, personality, and mind of its own which was part of his art style. This vid is just an expression of that and its so obviously not an abstract concept at all in contrary its just part of his own humorous act of art expressions in comedy.
Pryor wasn't just a brilliant comedian, he was also a philosopher. This skit is about quantum mechanics and clairvoyance. In Quantum theory all things are "alive" The actions these objects have participated in is all recorded in whats called the Akashic Records. We record info electronically or on tape magnetically. The earth is surrounded by a magnetic field all actions on earth leave an imprint in that field it's resonance can be felt or experienced since our brains are electric devices..
ya... i see the message this video was trying to get across, but too bad its bullshit. 90% of the guns you see in a gun store are either new or have been fired at a paper target a few times before the person returned it. criminals dont buy guns from gun stores, and then they definitely dont fucking return the murder weapon to same store, do you have any idea how quick you would get caught doing that?
Anyone else notice that Pryor actually picks up and touches all of the guns, even the first one used to target Freedom Riders, but he refuses to handle the last gun?
The second ammendment only gives the right to own weapons for the defence of one's self, one's family and one's country... it does not, however justify killing.
The second does not account for human stupidity, willingness to use responsibly or the willingness to take responsibility for it's use, this video does, without going into too much detail.
@ACE0HUNTER exactly. a gun is an object. it is only as dangerous as the fool hwo picks it up. i am liberal, sorry, but i have no problem with RESPONSIBLE gun owners. i grew up with guns in the house, and i was more afraid of what my dad would have done to me, than i was the gun. the problem, is making it harder for the fools to get ahold of guns.
The amazing thing about Pryor is how many genuinely edgy sketches he did but when you read more about his life it would make a hell of a story in itself. If you haven't seen it search for the mob night club story he told or how he actually uses the time he set himself on fire in a very funny but heart wrenching joke. I think the great think is he could use humour to get across some very serious points.
first of all "history TAUGHT or TEACHES", not "history has teached"
second, WWII was only made possible by harsh gun control and ultimately gun confiscation imposed by Hitler shortly after he took power in Germany, thus, the people (particularly Jews, who were specifically targeted for gun confiscation) were left unable to defend themselves against Hitler's tyrannical 3rd Reich BECAUSE HE TOOK THEIR GUNS AWAY BEFORE HE STARTED HIS INVASION.
@nolaOE800 So u like guns and i cant change ur mind. Idc what u like or not.
I do like guns but it dosnt make me blind to see what those do.
This 3rd reich history is 100% crap and Japan did atk to USA.I have meeted here peoples whos childrens been shooted..pls lecture to them if u gotta :)
@nolaOE800 they did drop bombs to mainland too.My grammar has nothing to do when u dont wanna get message u just dont get it.Selective realism is like religion and hard to get out of it. Do u know any concuered area where the concueror stays?
U dont have any reaon to be afraid of "enemys" and if so.. what weapon is big enough for u to feel "secured" ?
the biggest that is available to me. our forefathers felt that it was important enough to leave us the 2nd amendment to our constitution so that we would be able to overthrow a tyrannical government. it's not my fault that so many uneducated thugs get their hands on guns. anti-gunners like you are FUCKED if anything terrible ever happens. just cross your fingers that your big bad police force will be there to save you. by all means, DON'T try to protect YOURSELF!
@nolaOE800 The government has also got the army, predator drones, tanks, aircraft, missiles, smart bombs, and more. Why try to protect yourself when you'd be fucked over anyway in the end?
ok then give up! you fucking pussy! give up! give up all your liberties and freedoms! let's live in china! you know why we didn't win in vietnam? you know why we still haven't "won" in iraq? it's because those people are PISSED and have nothing to lose! when the shit really happens, I hope your gun'less pussy fucking ass is the first to go, you fuck.
@nolaOE800 My gunless pussy fucking ass -will- be the first to go, because I'll be negotiating contracts between different businesses from COMMUNIST CHINA and SOCIALIST ENGLAND and making enough money to live comfortably even among the high taxation.
yea, you'll do that, as you willingly FUCK everybody else who actually has morals and principals. exactly the same way your socialist/communist buddies have been doing for a long time now.
perfect socialist mindset you have... make money and save your own ass while everyone else gets fucked. and you somehow act as if this mindset is respectable in any way? makes me want to vomit.
Actually, that's what capitalism's all about: "Fuck you buddy, I got mine, so I'm not gonna support welfare programs that might help you because they will turn this country into a totalatarian dictatorship, just like Switzerland."
In other words, this country's already about saving your own ass while everyone gets fucked. That's why people bitch about not wanting to pay taxes for education and public services.
no, moron, capitalism is about WORKING for what you want, and not expecting everyone else to pick up the tab when you fail.
it promotes a good work ethic when you know that no one is there to wipe your ass for you when you don't feel like doing it yourself.
quick question.. do you have kids? whether you do or not, do you think that a good attitude to teach a kid is "don't try to earn the things you want, just take them from someone else!" I don't think so, myself.
Stop trying to justify human greed to get yourself out of helping others through sharing. Obviously you've never been poor so you wouldn't understand what it means to be born into poverty and thus, failure to the extent of not being able to even benefit from other's picking up the tab because it's so minute.
It can't promote a good work ethic if the people are too poor to work in the first place -- as in, they don't have access to a car to get to their job.
If used guns could talk....they would say this.

Yeah, guns never do anything bad, do they? It's just bad people. We know the line already. You're a cliche who knows only cliches.
Pizuzuzimmer 11 months ago
@Caseytify Only Military personnel (in combat) should have firearms, then destroy all guns when superseded.
Would that be too difficult? Why would you NEED a gun if no one else had any?
I'll stand back................... I expect a lot of comments, especially from the USA.
makjac46 11 months ago
@makjac46 .... But how do you stop the military, when they are armed and you aren't?
Also what happens if we lose our military? Who will protect us then.
Historically we never bothered keeping a standing army, because we could always relay on our people to be ready at a moments notice.
Granted times have changed and we do keep a standing army. But what happens if its destroyed, or disbanded, or is used against its own people.
Thats why we believe in the second amendment.

i don't think it has much to do with guns having any will. more the violence that we pass on from generation to generation. and while we think it can't be stopped...it only takes one to say no more. forget your heros and forget your villains...when we're born into this world we're given a standard that's full of shit, at the end of the day nobody wants to be slandered, raped, robbed, murdered...but that's the order we're given in a lot of cases and a few, manage to see thru it...

How is this "one-sided"? Were you even born by 1977 when this sketch came out? I was.
Mr. Pryor is one of the greats. Simple as that and this is coming from a "honky".
Did you know it wasn't legal to have an Interracial marriage until 1967 in the USA?
Mr. Pryor was great about showing the unfair and unconstitutional laws that still existed during his time through acting and great comedy.
Show some respect child.

@enslavedtoegnorance What about the genius who used inspiration and imagination to invent the atomic bomb?
MrPmj1979 1 year ago

90% of the guns you see in a gun store are either new or have been fired at a paper target a few times before the person returned it. criminals dont buy guns from gun stores, and then they definitely dont fucking return the murder weapon to same store, do you have any idea how quick you would get caught doing that?

ballsdanglin 1 year ago
@ballsdanglin
The second ammendment only gives the right to own weapons for the defence of one's self, one's family and one's country... it does not, however justify killing.
The second does not account for human stupidity, willingness to use responsibly or the willingness to take responsibility for it's use, this video does, without going into too much detail.

ACE0HUNTER 1 year ago
@ACE0HUNTER exactly. a gun is an object. it is only as dangerous as the fool hwo picks it up. i am liberal, sorry, but i have no problem with RESPONSIBLE gun owners. i grew up with guns in the house, and i was more afraid of what my dad would have done to me, than i was the gun. the problem, is making it harder for the fools to get ahold of guns.
tranurse 1 year ago 3
The amazing thing about Pryor is how many genuinely edgy sketches he did but when you read more about his life it would make a hell of a story in itself. If you haven't seen it search for the mob night club story he told or how he actually uses the time he set himself on fire in a very funny but heart wrenching joke. I think the great think is he could use humour to get across some very serious points.

murders, rapes, robberies.....
no talk of all the lives that are SAVED by guns.
nolaOE800 1 year ago
@nolaOE800 And why there is "murders, rapes, robberies....." ? history has teached that over powering 1 side wont make safe & stability to any1.
Last time when 1 side was over powered there was alot murdering ( WWII).
So it is society that counts. Never weapon.
koponenii 1 year ago
@koponenii
haha, this is gonna be easy...
first of all "history TAUGHT or TEACHES", not "history has teached"
second, WWII was only made possible by harsh gun control and ultimately gun confiscation imposed by Hitler shortly after he took power in Germany, thus, the people (particularly Jews, who were specifically targeted for gun confiscation) were left unable to defend themselves against Hitler's tyrannical 3rd Reich BECAUSE HE TOOK THEIR GUNS AWAY BEFORE HE STARTED HIS INVASION.

@nolaOE800 they did drop bombs to mainland too.My grammar has nothing to do when u dont wanna get message u just dont get it.Selective realism is like religion and hard to get out of it. Do u know any concuered area where the concueror stays?
U dont have any reaon to be afraid of "enemys" and if so.. what weapon is big enough for u to feel "secured" ?
koponenii 1 year ago
@koponenii
the biggest that is available to me. our forefathers felt that it was important enough to leave us the 2nd amendment to our constitution so that we would be able to overthrow a tyrannical government. it's not my fault that so many uneducated thugs get their hands on guns. anti-gunners like you are FUCKED if anything terrible ever happens. just cross your fingers that your big bad police force will be there to save you. by all means, DON'T try to protect YOURSELF!
nolaOE800 1 year ago
@nolaOE800 The government has also got the army, predator drones, tanks, aircraft, missiles, smart bombs, and more. Why try to protect yourself when you'd be fucked over anyway in the end?

how many soldiers have been killed by a bunch of unorganized fanatical morons in the desert who clean their rifles with motor oil and shoe laces?
there is an estimated 70 million deer hunters in this country. nuff said.
nolaOE800 1 year ago
@nolaOE800 Deer hunters don't have tanks, f-22s, air strikes, predator drones.
Also, how many more fanatical morons have been killed in the desert by those soldiers?
Furthermore, there's also the police, SWAT teams, special ops forces, FBI and CIA among other groups.
Nuff said.

@krkrkrkrkrkrkrkrkrkx
yea, you'll do that, as you willingly FUCK everybody else who actually has morals and principals. exactly the same way your socialist/communist buddies have been doing for a long time now.
perfect socialist mindset you have... make money and save your own ass while everyone else gets fucked. and you somehow act as if this mindset is respectable in any way? makes me want to vomit.
nolaOE800 1 year ago
@nolaOE800 Lol@irony.
So really, why bring up morals?
krkrkrkrkrkrkrkrkrkx 1 year ago
@krkrkrkrkrkrkrkrkrkx
no, moron, capitalism is about WORKING for what you want, and not expecting everyone else to pick up the tab when you fail.
it promotes a good work ethic when you know that no one is there to wipe your ass for you when you don't feel like doing it yourself.
quick question.. do you have kids? whether you do or not, do you think that a good attitude to teach a kid is "don't try to earn the things you want, just take them from someone else!" I don't think so, myself.
nolaOE800 1 year ago
@nolaOE800 Cool story bro.
