  • i dont mind that he's higher pitched, hes still a sick artist from wat ive heard so far

  • @blackras lol

  • I dont think you should have bought up the white rapper thing. What if a black christian rock band was coming up and a reviewer said he "wasnt into the black rocker thing". Everybody would be crying racisim. I jus think it was a little tacky at best and takes away from some other good points in the review.

  • @dizzumd sure they would. What does them being Black have to do with being a rock band. In this case though, I can show countless examples of white rappers who sound like they're 12 years old. Braille and Em used to. Ad I can show many more. People won't say it openly like I will, but I've had many discussions about the white rapper in CHH with people.

  • @blackras I dont think it has anything to do with them being white. I know black rappers that sound white and white rappers that sound black like Paul Wall, Lil Whyte, etc etc so I just think it was misguided. I just think there is a bias against rappers that rap with proper diction and dont have that "street slang" slur, etc. I just think race should be left out. Blacks would be crying racism if it was the other way around.

  • @dizzumd again, speaking about proper diction vs. ebonics is not what I'm referring to as sounding white. It's about the high pitch voice which he and a lot white mc's I know have.

  • @blackras and when Em was making those "hi kids, do you like violence" songs, he was selling millions so obviously not too many felt he sounded too white, i remember when that song came out, i was growing up in the projects in st. pete, fla, rarely saw or communicated with whites outside of school and i loved it. I wasnt thinking he sounds too white. I was thinking hes a dope lyricist.

  • @dizzum You're missing my point about white mc's and "sounding white".. But Em sold millions because he captured white america. Race had a lot to do with that. Not just his skill. He made music white people could relate to. Even people who don't even listen to rap.

  • @blackras Em captured america period, not jut white america, cats in my hood who liked lyricism bumped em just as much bro.

  • @blackras If your problem is with the high pitch voice, then just say high pitched voice, why bring race into it? If i don't like deep voices like biggie, i'll just say i don't like deep voices, I wont say I don't like the deep voices black rappers have. I understand you're being honest but so are people like rush limbaugh, its not the honesty i have a problem with.

  • @blackras By the way, I understand em having a white face did cause him to sell MORE but ppl cant say that ems success was mostly due to him being white, dude is one of the greatest all time, kills the BET cipher every year. If he wasn't one of the illest, there is no way he makes it onto BET. Ask the million other white rappers.

  • @dizzumd Dude, I'm white and there is nothing racist about it. It's true. Maybe not for all emcee's but its a stereotype.

  • @MrHayden116 I don't think ones race has anything to do with the validity of their claims in a debate. I just think the comment could have been said and have been more effective if the fact that he's white wasn't included. By including race, you just leave door open for that statement to be interpreted many different ways like when Limbaugh says black QBs cant throw. However true it may be thats racist bro. It implies there is something inherently wrong with person due to their race.

  • @dizzumd Well, I'm from Detroit so obviously I have respect for Em's skills. But you brought up him selling millions. A big part of him selling millions was he was able to cross over to those outside of rap culture. That's all I'm saying. To people who don't even like rap. No denial of his skills. As far as the other things, like you said, we'll agree to disagree. I still feel it's appropriate and we need to talk about white rappers in CHH.

  • @blackras i feel u, good topic for discussion

  • @dizzumd yep

  • @blackras My black band point i was trying to make was what if a white christian rock reviewer says i don't think blacks should make rock or i dont like blacks when they try to do rock because they sound too soulful or churchy? I have actually heard ppl here in indiana say that. Thats racist! Now if they say I dont like soulful rock or churchy sounding rock, that would be fine but the moment you put a race onto it, thats racism. I know black guys that sound like eminem cuz they grew up in burbs

  • @blackras Now you could argue that he sounds like eminem too much in some songs. That would be a proper assessment in my opinion but to bring it up that he's white and him being white is a detriment to his rapping voice, i'm sorry bro but thats racist. I understand where u coming from Ras, I know others who dont like eminems voice and they say same, its a white voice, and dude thats just racist man to say it like that. No way around it.

  • @dizzumd but this is not what I mean by "sounding white". Like saying he's from the burbs. vs. from the inner city as in sounding black. I'm talking about the lack of bass in his voice. Sounding like a little kid. A lot white mc's compared to black mc's sound that way. Paul Wall has a deep voice. Tim, Stephen have deeper voices. He does not.

  • @blackras But you mention it like its a flaw, like " its a white rapper thing, they have a tendency to do that, but that keeps me from liking them a lot" its like a white guy saying black singers have a tendency to oversing, do too many runs, it keeps me from liking them but really race isn't the issue, its things like culture, etc. Lotta ppl like the high pitch em voice. I thought Shai Linne was white before i seen him.The race reference taints otherwise good points in my humble opinion bro

  • @blackras As I said, I see where you are coming from with how you feel, but if whites say the same thing, its racism. I just want blacks to realize we get away with a lot of racism because we feel its ok, were minorities but racism is never ok. I dont believe youre a racist but that comment was. We just have to agree to disagree on this one, its a good topic for debate. I still like watching ur reviews.

  • @blackras Also tons of black rappers that rap with same high pitch voice as eminem like Boosie, etc but they sound hood so they get a pass. Again just my opinion, it just saddened me because I watched this review with a white friend who was baffled by your comment because Jaylafe is our friend and I referred Jaylafe to you as i liked your honest reivew of my joint and wanted to use the review to help him grow as an artist but the race comment wasnt helpful man. Its a dead horse now tho

  • Nice review! LOL @ "Hey kids do you like violence?" true though. You can also listen to the full song on newh2o.com

  • @MrHayden116 thanks
