I was wondering if the events horizons would be altered as the two black holes merge so that light could escape. Along the line joining the two black holes gravity should be reduced but as we move away from it the gravitional forces would add vectorally. Would there be points at which gravity is weakened enough so that light could escape?
There have been many black holes that have merged and we do know what happens... it becomes a bigger black hole OR it will reject the black hole and send it shooting off into space... unless they enter one anothers event horizons.
when that happens, does it mean that no one will care, or will it even matter? should i worry, or stop everything i'm doing?

Does light escape when two black holes merge?

doubt it... light can't escape one, don't think it would escape two.

So when the 2 massive black hole merges.. would their gravitational force be 2x stronger?

Truth is that probably mankind has no idea what will happen when those 2 merge , and sadly we won't be here to find out :P
