  • Amazing the transformation from somewhat cute baby into adult opossum, one of the most hideous animals to ever walk the face of the earth.

  • As if you just dropped the opossum like *CLUNK* into the bag/bathtub lol. How are you guys so afraid of that tiny creature. Just so you know, it couldn't be rabid, just like a mouse is rarely rabid - a bite from a rabid animal would kill the thing.

  • Wow. That's a whole lot of protection for a baby opossum. Someone's scared! LOL Gain some knowledge on the interenet, and you will realize that there is minimal danger from a juvinile opossum.

  • Dude messed up I just found a baby one to she one mouth and even I wasn't acting that bad I called the people up and they coming for her today

  • it's just a baby, idiot. You should have taken it to a wild life sanctuary.... and you 2 were acting like it was rapid badger.... for cryingout loud....some people are too ignorant to breath.

  • Two huge adult primates freaked out by a tiny juvenile marsupial. That's a sight to behold.

  • A baby this small needs to go to a wildlife rehab center to get about twice a big before being released.

  • What are you afrait for, it`s not harmfull.

  • twat... basically you just left the poor baby to die.

  • sadly people go opossum hunting and see them as pests. Well what are you gonna do

  • Why didn't you feed it first before you let it go? It might need the food to be fed and feels better then.... nonsense...no common sense...

  • no possums dont usually have rabies its kinda rare thats what iv'e ben told..

  • very cute, but i hope they bleached the HELL out of tub before they used it again. LOL

  • Possums cant get rabies, they will just die if they are bitten by something with rabies, most likely, or just not catch the disease. They are immune to near everything. ALSO, thats not a baby(: Its a yound adult. Even though it is small, its about ready to breed. Due to a possums short life span -3 years, they mature at around 5-6 months, so that is an adult, as that is the rough size of 5-6 months. They are still small die to the small size they are born at, howere they can get quite large(:

  • thows r the most ugliest things ever i go hunting for those i killed one in my backyard last night.

  • @BrandonDurkeeHunting You're an a@@hole!!!!!! I have 3 opossums and they sweet and gentle creaturesw who get a bad rap because they get scared and show their teeth. they are docile!

  • @angelpaws6 OOOH ! ! my lord you are sooo..... LUCKY ......I miss my "cupake "so much!!!! We had our cupcake for years. I raised her from a pinky.....she grew up in the top section of my summer tank tops. It was like her mothers pouch.she only left my side when i showered, untill she didn't fit .I'm crying writing this......2 yrs ago she passed , i still cry like a baby when ever i talk about her......i need to stop crying now.....i cant see to type!!! she was my little lovey!! I MISS HER SO!!!

  • nooooo you should have taken it to the humane society or a wildlife rescue center! the babies can't survive on their own :(

  • NO_JOKE....my 87 year old mother, who lived through the great depression of the1930s (in southern Indiana) said they used to eat possums and squirrels. I guess if you are starving to death anything thats alive and moving looks good to eat

  • then how old r u?

  • LOL....old enough to have an 87 year old mother

  • POSSUM NEVER GET RABIES because are animals of very cold blood. They never attack people or pets . The POSSUMS coming from Dinosaurs times.

The POSSUMS are kind, fantastic and marvelous animals. GOD did a great masterpiece with POSSUM.

    YOUTUBE CAPISTRANTOMAS

  • capistrantomas: but can't a possom get rabies from being bitten by an animal that has rabies?....like a dog with rabies

  • No inkey... they have a lower body temperature than other mammals, and this low temp does not support rabies.

  • You do realise that opossum died. The mother provides food and theyre pretty helpless and vunerable at that age.

You were also seriously WAY too cautious. You could have picked the baby up and put that in your hand and it just would have probably slept.

  • Awwh. I usually cringe at possums, but this one reminds me of that one I found in my yard trash can once. When I looked down at it, it was trembling and holding a half-eaten kumquat in its tiny little hands. It was soooo precious lol

  • at this age, I doubt it could hurt you.

  • Baby opossum's are very tame, check mine out. I've only had it for a week and it sleeps on my lap and eats a TON of food.

  • I saw one of those in my backyard yesterday and it allmost bit the hell out of my dog!

  • Predators get hungry too. It just made its way back into the food chain.

  • Thanks so much for rescuing him. He probably just wandered in. I found one in a washing machine, fortunately before anyone used it. A little one like that can be picked up with your hands. If he did decide to bite, it wouldn't be enough to bother you. At that size, he's going to look good to a lot of predators so next time, find a wildlife rehab center to take him to.

They will keep him until he's bigger, then let him/her go back to the wild.

  • y would u want to remove him????

  • cuz hes stuck =(

  • Hate to break it to you, but they're kind of defenseless if they don't have a mother. It probably died a while after you released it.

It's not like you knew, though.

  • cat did it... nooo doubt.... cat's are really hard on wildlife !

  • CATS aqre very sensitive to there mothers... ive had a few tht died b4 cuz there so young

  • i just rescued one, the best thing is to keep him for 2 or 3 weeks and release him in a refuge park close by your house. They are too small and can be killed by other animals in the neighborhood. They eat pet food, cat food and fruit.

They can play sick or dead. Their body temperature is too low to carry rabies. They do not carry rabies.

  • dude.. you should have kept it as a pet and nursed it back to health because it is just a baby and it probably died after you let it go beause it needs its mother. Also never pick up an animal from its neck, and the oppossums mom never does that they hang on to her on her back or her stomach

  • Very cute indeed...lol..did you ever figure how it got in after all?

  • omg! he is soooooooooooo cute! i want 2 pet him!

  • So where did u take the opossum?

  • I let him go in the woods near the apartment.

  • And so Dr.Gordon Freeman saved the day from the tiny opossum threat! Woo! I'm glad you didn't crowbar it.

  • what did u do with the baby possum.. they are so cute.

  • what a sweet little thing! i can't believe he showed up in your drain though. they are very gentle darlings, don't be afraid of them.

  • babies that little aren't mean. I have raised opossums since I was 12 with my mother.

  • Very funny.

I'm currently raising an orphan possum.

They are very gentle creatures. Their main defense is to act ferocious (which they are good at!) but they are definately all bark and no bite. And it is very, very rare to find a rabid opossum (unlike skunks, racoons, bats, etc).

    Nice rescue! ;)

  • Lol, that super brave dude, I could have never done that.

    JSG

  • AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAW! good job, nice of you to release it

  • Why is the bath tub sooo dirty? havent u guys ever cleaned it before? how can u bathe in that? that is diguisting

  • eww are you sirious i would havee likke freaked i love animalss butt you dontt no what a possum can have thatsss uchhhhh..and som11 said touch it with ur bare hands are u nuts! get a dog or a cat or somthing if u love possums sooo muchh dont raisee it too livee

  • it was so cute..

  • What a little sweetheart! I also wish I could have taken him in. Thank you for handling him with so much care and respect.

  • You are so lucky!!

I've wanted a opossum for years!

I wish I was there, I would have loved to take him off your hands!

And why do you treat it like its a discusting creature? I think hes the most adorable thing I've ever seen in my entire life! :)

    No Joke.

  • they said in the description "We thought it was going to be vicious and rabid" and i am just like you opossums are my favorite animal!!! hope it was okay afterwards.

  • OMG lol cute baby but lol you can just pick it up with your bair hands

  • Haha, how sweet.

  • So what happened to the baby opossum?

  • It was released in the woods by the park down the street. I didn't eat it.
