not a bad video , three strikes is almost as good as me. onething I will say, NOT ALL OF THE FOLLOWING APPLY TO THIS VIDEO. is i hate when these videos are called bushcraft and primitive, then the people in them are wearing brand new clothing that makes them look city like, and use char cloth they bought and haven't even taken out of the packing, have a bought striker, bought flint, a bought bag and ramble junk that is incorrect.
@captain kirk 5100 Haa haa Ive done it in one many a time but it doesn't really matter as long you get it to light which is the main objective.
Well the only thing that may apply to me is that im wearing modern clothing but thats because im not a reenactor and Bushcraft is all about learning old skills in a modern world but theres nothing primative in using a fire steel.
I make and sell my own fire steels,I make my own charcloth, leather bags and have collected my own flint.
When I do bushcraft, I wear my relaxing clothes, a knife, flint&steel and a net to catch fish with in the river. Thats all. Not pure bushcraft, but as close as I can get.
@captainkirk5100 IS WEARING STOCKINGS AND SUSPENDERS AND A FEZ HAT WHILST LIGHTING MY FARTS WITH TWO STICKS PRIMITIVE ENOUGH FOR YOU, OR SHOULD WE BE WEARING GEAR FROM THE STARSHIP ENTERPRISE TO FIT IN?
check through his othervideosfor the answerand demonstration ;)
Good to see you found somewhere to have a fire and some wood! im going to have a go at making a fire steel another evning, pretty sure i can get the center of my log burner upto temperature
I found a nice spot that was pretty private but looked like others camp there to.
It funny as In countries like Finland and Sweden they positivly encourage people to camp yet here they make it as hard as possible for us to enjoy nature.
finally someone who knows what a flint and steel is i hate those fero rods that people call flint and steel they dont even have flint in them :/

@xMrjamjam I use a ferro rod sometimes but have to admit that I feel the same way about folks calling them fire steels.

Its a little hard to have a ground fire without scorching the ground but in a couple of months it will have grown back.
