  • This is the most informative video that I've ever seen as it relates to Google AdWords: Keyword Tool. Thank you for video @TerrapinMarketing I'm looking forward to new uploads from you.

  • @ProProducerJC Thanks for saying that. I will need to redo this video as the interface has changed yet again.

Your kind words is what keeps me motivated to do these videos. I get no money from this and I have no pitch! So thanks again for the motivation to do more!!!

  • thanks for this video. makes me understand clearly how it works . thanks :))

  • @kurapika0012 Your most welcome. Thank you for dropping by.

  • Interesting. I agree about the Google Adwords Keyword Tool, that it is a more accurent tool rather then other sources of keyword tracking. Since google is more precise in their keyword statistic listing.

  • @Jazzy4lyf Google is the only keyword tool that could even be accurate since most keyword tools are not search engines and don't have the kind of access to user behaviour that google has. Be sure you understand the differences between the match type of (broad, modified broad, phrase and exact). Knowing these match is the key to really dissecting this data effectively. Thanks for dropping by!

  • @TerrapinMarketing

I agree with you on there 100%. I also think that other keyword tools aren't as accurent, as Google is with the Google Keyword Tool. That is true, since Google's search engine created the Google Adwords Tool. Yes, I have an better understanding now, that the phrase is a good way to find the main keyword behind or on the back of the phrase.

  • @TerrapinMarketing

Which I believe is one of the best choices, as the search engines filter out the main keyword in example the meta tag keyword, if it is in the front, when there is an increasing amount of keyword competition for it. That is why, I have seen many websites rank high by putting the main keyword in the second or third position in the long tailed keywords. Your video was really helpful! Thank you for the informative video an reply.

  • It's very very informative video. Really, solved my problems concerning google keywords tool. Thanks!

    waiting for more videos :)

  • @Nexus54IncUAE Your most welcome! I am glad to hear that this video helped you out. Let me know if you have any questions.

  • It's very very informative video. Really, solved my problems concerning google keywords tool. Thanks!

    waiting for more videos :)

  • hi,

i got an idea what is keyword search as i am only 1 day old in this subject and is very serious in internet research and SEO search as i wish to make this my source of life. if you can suggest me other links that i can learn about this in depth i appreciate it. Thank you

  • @666saandy The best thing is practice this research. I would take 3-5 subjects and explore the keywords for them. If you look at my channel you will see another video called organizing your data, that video will help you make sense of your keyword data. It is a "must step". I assume you went to my site for the super long keyword research guide that I have on there.

Sorry but what is it that you want to learn more about?

    Can you be more specific?

  • Great video-

It seems like you recorded this video about a year ago but is there any way you could do a tutorial on finding keywords for small micro niches (relatively steady traffic but low in numbers) thanks!

  • @TheGJuleS Yes I could do that. Have you gone to my site and checked my keyword guide?

Click the link in my description to read it.

It covers a lot of ground.

Yes I can do a video for you.

Can you maybe first draft me a list of questions you have about this task?

Anything you can think of is just fine.

It will help me to make the video cover the parts you want in more detail.

Shoot me a list and I will craft something up for you!

  • thaks for the video....!!!

  • @avadhut95251 Your most welcome

  • Thanks for the video. I like how you go into some of the advanced features of the keyword tool. Learning about the "Phrase" Match Types option I finally figured out why WordTracker and Google Keywords were giving wildly different results.

  • @nickhepp Thanks for dropping by and I am glad I could help you out.

  • This is fantastic! Thank you!!

  • @tviola01 Thanks for saying so, I do appreciate it!

Check out my channel for others like it and leave a topic request if you got something on your mind.

  • good bro

  • @ondemandmg thanks bro!

  • @madhouseassociates Thanks for subscribing and of course for the mighty fine comments. I think I am going to be doing a video on using adwords next. Anything you would like to see covered regarding that topic? The more feedback I get, the better I can cover the topics and questions that people "need" and not just what I think people need! Anyways many thanks for your support!

  • great video, packed with information and easily explained - good job, thumbs up!

  • @badgerfeatures Thanks so much dropping by, I am always thrilled to hear positive feedback. There are other versions of this video that cover the 2011 interface for the Google Adwords Kewyord Tool.

  • This is excellent, concise, and useful. Much thanks :)

  • @karateka17 I am glad I could help. I do try to keep it info packed and to the point so thanks for saying so. I am redoing the video since the google tool has changed recently. Any questions or concepts you would like to see added to a new video?

    Thanks for your time,

    Geoff

  • @move2cyprus thanks for the great info.

  • I was trying to get a better understanding of this using the Google help on the subject but found it very to be quite insufficient. Thanks for clearing things up for me.

  • @F2milyB3st Your most welcome. Thanks for dropping by. Subscribe to my channel to keep update when I release new vids!

  • that's great.. I'm eager to see the new one...

  • nice work... i like the video..

  • @WebsiteTrafficz

    Thank you very much.

I will be redoing this one for the new 2011 interface soon.

  • Awesome video! I actually prefer Exact match because I believe that the local numbers are more realistic. However, I will try Phrase match in order to obtain more keyword phrase ideas. Thanks!

  • @LaTonyaRecommends

Thanks for the kind words and dropping by.

    Phrase or Exact is fine.

To me exact is a little limiting but just as long as you what your dealing with and your data is all the same match type you can then treat the numbers as relative.

  • Fantastic video, wish I watched the filtering bit before drilling down through 10,000 keywords

  • @TheExcelExpert Thanks for dropping by. Yes the autofilter is ultra handy for wrangling large amounts of data.

  • thanks for much for using the most recent 2010 adword tool in your video all those other people are showing the old version makes no sense.

  • @LastHiredFirstFired Your most welcome.

Do you have an video requests?

I make videos on demand if the topic is similar to the ones I have already.

Or shoot me a list of questions and I will make you a video response!

    Just for you pal!

    Cheeers!

  • Nice very useful

  • @mboneit Thanks for dropping by. I am glad I could help you out.

I also do video requests if you have one.

  • man this was a really great video thanks a lot. come check out my page if you want but i am subscribing to your because it is legitimately useful thanks again.

  • @goldennoah1

    Thanks for dropping by.

I also make videos upon request too.

So if you have any thing you want to learn more about just let me know and I will make you a video.

  • Good stuff here. Thanks, Terp. I've been using this tool for a while now and definitely learned a few things. Incredibly valuable program, I agree.

  • @TarheelJ

    Thanks for the kind words.

  • Hi Terrapin, I was trying out the Google Keyword Tool and typed in the same keyword as you. However I do not see any Contains function at the sidebar.

  • @relligence On the left you see: All Categories Computers Consumer Electronics Finance Food Hobbies & Leisure Home & Garden Sports & Fitness Click the + sign to open a category. Then click off any categories you dont want results from. Let me know if you need more help! Good luck! Geoff
  • @TerrapinMarketing

hmm.. I have the categories sidebar, but i'm lacking the Contains below the categories. Is it because of the new google keyword tool or?

  • @relligence

Ok so go in a category.

Then you will many keywords with tick boxes beside them.

Say you see "organic" in a category because your original search was say "cat food". If you un-tick "organic" then all keywords that contain organic are then removed from the results.

This is a useful method for removing non relevant terms.

Again click the category, then you see terms with tick boxes, then you tick off what you dont want to see in the results. Contain was just a term I used.

  • @TerrapinMarketing Also, under the advanced search, I don't see any show results for all keyword ideas/ideas containing my search terms. i remember seeing them months ago.

  • @relligence

You need an Adwords account. Then you will see it.

Logon into adwords first then open the tool and all these options will appear for you.

  • @relligence I got it figured out. The tool has changed since I made that video. I now have all the same issues that you do. So that explains all the problems we a re have now. Its still a great tool you just have to use it a little differently. What is a is important: 1) Keywords returned 2) The "phrase match" demand 3) CPC for knowing the competition levels.
  • @relligence

I made you a video called:

religence - made for this user

It should be up by noon PST.

Search this in YT or my channel.

Its a response just for you.

As a way of saying thanks could give me some thumbs up on my videos. subscribe and maybe add me as a friend.

This way you can help me out a little.

As always let me know if you have any questions

  • Would like to know more about using the website option for finding keywords.

  • @gwatts2617

You simple type in a term like "cat food" and supply a url.

Google will then tell you all the keywords that it "thinks" is related to "cat food".

I might make a video for that, but I dont think its a great tool.

Its good brainstorming I guess but that is about it.

Thanks for dropping by and as always let me know if you need more help.

    Cheers!

  • Great stuff

  • @reason31

    Thank you very much.

I just added a new video on my channel that details how to organize your keyword data. Thought that might be of interest to you since you expressed interest in this video.

    Thank for dropping by!

  • I also want to learn how to organize this data.

  • Hi Terrapin,

I look forward to learning where to go from here. i.e. how you save and organize your keywords to certain campaigns. Also; tutorials on all the AdWords tools would be awesome.

    Excellent Video!

  • @10viewer1

    Thank you.

    OK you got it.

I will make a video that tells you how to organize this data and what you do with it.

Adwords is a big can of worms and I will think about some basics one should start with.

Feel free to message me any marketing question you might have and I will do my best to help along.

    Cheers!

  • Hey TerrapinMarketing.

I must firstly say that I loved your first video; it was very informative, well presented, it made sense, easy to follow for a newbie (like me), and basically I can tell from your tone/inflection that you have a passion for this.

Secondly, a little bit of constructive critisym, but I'm sure you can take it! And that would be to slow things down (especially your vocal speed). I know you packed a lot in, but slow it down, spread it over 2 vids if you have to.

    Thanks!!!

  • @Anaglyph80 Hey thanks. I just did it off the cuff so I appreciate the kind words. I would like to make more as I get feedback from people. Keyword research is a off topic that a lot of people have a hard time with. I agree its fast.... too fast. Trying to pack too much in the 10 minute limit. Thanks for saying so as its hard to tell when you made the darn video. Any topics you would like too see covered? Or specific questions about keyword research? Just ask and you'll get!
  • I'm very new to this subject, and basically its seems a little difficult getting hold of solid, helpful information about products such as Google's keyword tool...I thought your video was well made and informative. So thanks...

  • @MrBlaxjax

    Well thank you very much.

I want to make more videos but I need help from people like you as you what you want to learn about.

Your questions help me to make better videos. So feel free to leave me some questions and I will make more videos answering your questions.

    Cheers!

  • Thanks for vid. I look forward to seeing more.

  • @krisklimko

    Your welcome.

    Thanks for dropping by.

  • Thanks for this video. I am just doing some keyword research and this was really helpful.

Do you use any paid keyword tools?

  • @darkestglobe

    Your welcome.

NO I dont use any paid tools.

I used to use Wordtracker and Kewyord Discovery but now that the google is so good I dont need to pay for those tools anymore.

  • I am just starting out in niche marketing, and this was a great help in my keyword research. Thanks.

  • @MrFrostyWerefox

    Thanks for saying.

I am doing a series on keyword research.

Do you have any suggestions as to what you would like covered?

I am making no BS videos that are actually useful.

My goal is just to make really good videos that help people.

You suggestions or input would be very much appreciated.

    Thanks for dropping by.

  • @georgekao Thanks for the kind words.

    Here are your answers:

    A1.

    Competition

The image represents the number of advertisers bidding on each keyword relative to all keywords across Google. In a nutshell this is interesting but seldom useful.

A2.No it does not always mean that. Its just a measure of how many advertisers exist. A good or better niche has consumer demand but not a lot of competition.

    A3. Yes.

I am going to do a series of videos that teach the entire process front to back

  • @TerrapinMarketing Thanks for your helpful answers. Looking forward to your future videos!

  • @georgekao

You should have left your questions there.

No big deal but it would be helpful for other people.
