your reply would be really appreciated and really thanks.!!

    cheers,

  • does your wifi work on ubuntu if it does how did you get it to work

  • yes it works great out of box on ubuntu 8.10 and i think it will work on 9.04 too. Otherwise you could search the SICKBOY kernel

  • one question plz =)

whats the batery life with ubuntu distro

  • max 2 hours

  • hey if u install ubuntu of a memory pen then once its all installed will you have to keep the memory pen in all the time ? thanks

  • yes because it works only on the penddrive trough the I/O operations

  • will this void the warranty?

  • no it won't

  • can you please tell me how do i change my boot up start from usb....or i just need to plug in the ubuntu usb and restart....pls help

  • ciao, voglio comprare anche io questo UMPC. Funziona bene con Ubuntu installato?? hai qualche guida da consigliarmi per installarlo?

    ciao e grazie

  • does the cam work and the micro hardware in general

  • yes all works only wifi need to be compiled but you can find a lot of howto on internet

  • I've been trying to just use ubuntu liveusb with the read write ability so i dont have to install it. however, i keep getting an error that i have no more space, which is impossible because my usb is 8gb and the ubuntu is only 700mb. i know i have at least 6 gigs ready as the /home directory but its not letting me use it. got any ideas?

  • I don't know... probably it means the space on your ramdisk which is 512 mb. You should controll how your filesystem is organized in /etc/fstab or check the partition table of the pendrive through pmagic.

I hope this can help you bye

  • Hi men, where can I download such USB?

  • you can use the livecd of ubuntu, start it then connect to internet and type in the terminal: sudo apt-get install liveusb.

this package will help you in creating a liveusb of ubuntu

    bye

  • Thanks men, I will do it right now. I buy an Aspire ONE just today but I didn't like the SO.

To install it just need to boot from USB?

Jejeje so enoing but I don't want to take risks with this beauty.

  • yes after created it you can just use it like a livecd and install ubuntu. Don't worry about the risk, remebmer that you have the recovery cd!

    bye

  • Yup I have the CD recovery... but not a place where to put such CD on the notebook so... I will be really carefull lol. Thanks again men.

  • you can use a normal pc with a dvd drive to create the recovery usb! Acer thought at all
