@RubyTeeg Cecelia Bartoli is one of the most famous Italian opera singers of all time. Her technique is near perfect by most accounts. She will go down as one of the greatest Italian mezzo sopranos in modern history. I got the chance to see her at the Met in New York and it was amazing. Research her more. She's had more vocal training than either of us can imagine, and her carrer has spanned a couple decades already. Seriously, research her.
I do like Cecilia's rendition here, though this maybe too operatic in the climactic notes, and not as reverential as some of the other famous ladies I've been listening to here tonight..

WHAT is THE TRUTH about JESUS & HIS MOTHER MARY? Simply A JEW JESUS didn;t DIE on THE CROSS &so HIS PUPILS STOLE "so called HIS BODY" from THE TOMB as ROMAN SOLDIERS TOLD &so ROMAN SOLDIERS were LOOKING for ALIVE JESUS & HIS MOTHER &HIS PUPILS as SWINDLERS! So JESUS & HIS MOTHER had to ESCAPE from THE TERRITORY where THEY were KNOWN VERY WELL. So JEWS PROPAGATED A SWINDLE that JESUS & HIS MOTHER MARY CAME to THE SKY! So ROMAN EMPERORS DECIDED to CRUCIFY "so called FIRST CHRISTIANS" as SWINDLERS!
People just enjoy the music. If somebody can imbue such rapture into a piece of music (as Bartoli does) and manages this through religious belief, so what (I say this as an atheist)?
Some of these hateful comments crush the experience to listening to such a beautiful piece of music. Either way,Cecilia Bartoli has an absolutely entrancing voice!

What's this got to do with the music? You're way off the point. Listen to the music. Your comments belong in another category; political/religious perhaps. So please keep them out of this music category. Thanks.
@kamanetzki JUST YES, it is "THE TRUTH about MOTHER of JESUS named MARY". READ MORE as MY COMMENTS under FILMS: "Princess Grace Kelly of Monaco" by "tirjibic" & "Romy hommage" by "1982Romy" & "Princesse Stephanie / Princesse Grace 2008" by "Lilly071012" and "prince amadeo of belgium" & "Prince Amadeo of Belgium" & "princerss mathilde and prince philippe of belgium" by "princessgaud17" and "Stephanie de Monaco - I'm Waiting For You" & "Stephanie de Monaco - Dance With Me" by "crabwalk".
@Portubed The Da Vinci Code is not antisemitic, nor does its author write on or profess to believe any of the things written by "Anna".
That said, beautiful, beautiful music. I may find religious faith (as, indeed, I find most kinds of faith) grossly misplaced, but anything that can inspire this kind of wondrous beauty can't be all bad.
Ah that's better. I tight vibrato in the voice...more like Celine Dion is for pop. Some of the opera singers have a long waver in the vibrato. I don't like it as much. This is definitely one of the more beautiful voices I have heard. Hilary Hahn does the same for violin (a beautiful tight vibrato).
To be honest, although I'm a moderate Christian (Catholic), I think anyone, with or without a faith, should be able to appreciate and share the beauty of this music. To the people who are so anti-religious, think for a moment about all of the beautiful and priceless pieces of art that have been completely inspired by religion yet are shared by all. It is not the main cause of wars or hatred; man's own mixture of greed, ignorance, pride, spite and envy does that all by itself.
Come on guys!! Just enjoy the music!! Music is the language (and religion I might add) that unites us all. So whether or not one believes in God does not matter. =] Music is Unbiased, it does not judge the fallen man nor does it instigate who is worthy of it...

I love Ms. Bartoli and think she is an amazing talent, but when I listen to this, I want to hear it sung gently.

We were doing the Bach piece today in Schenkerian analysis class, and my lecturer seems to think this version is "a big pile of crap" hahaha ... he says the original prelude doesn't need a melody line LOL

Cecilia, sei una cantante molto brava. Voglio cantare come tu.

People just enjoy the music. If somebody can imbue such rapture into a piece of music (as Bartoli does) and manages this through religious belief, so what (I say this as an atheist)?
godbluff68 1 year ago 13
I adore her more than any creature on this world but what does she do to that high B-flat?!! OUch!

Thanks.

@Anna27051962 To anyone reading, look at Anna to see what reading Da Vinci Code and the like can do to you...
Portubed 1 year ago 3
@Portubed hahaha you're right about that!!!
msmjimmy 1 year ago
@Portubed The Da Vinci Code is not antisemitic, nor does its author write on or profess to believe any of the things written by "Anna".
That said, beautiful, beautiful music. I may find religious faith (as, indeed, I find most kinds of faith) grossly misplaced, but anything that can inspire this kind of wondrous beauty can't be all bad.
GaladedridDamodred 9 months ago
@Anna27051962 .. please don't pass judgement on a religion like that, it's rather disrespectful. You come to listen to the music...

Where can I get this recording? IMO this is the most beautiful piece of music ever written and Cecilia does it very well. I adore Cecilia.

Live and let live!

Come on guys!! Just enjoy the music!! Music is the language (and religion I might add) that unites us all. So whether or not one believes in God does not matter. =] Music is Unbiased, it does not judge the fallen man nor does it instigate who is worthy of it...
