They can barely function in normal society and they constantly jump from partner to partner as the people fail to satisfy them or either of them go out of town and they bone the first person who will let them. how is that ridiculous? They can get diseases, and it's impossible to have a normal relationship.

Listen up. Sexual appetite is normal and healthy. Sexual addiction, however, is when there's an abnormal psychological dependence on one's continued involvement with a sexually related activity despite the negative consequences associated with it - not only can it cripple and destroy your life, but it can devastate the lives of the people around you as well.
I think it's good that people here know better than to just write it off as moral weakness, but let's not start dismissing it as a joke.

It's a perceived addiction only on the level that is most technical and there's not even any REAL science or medical basis to establish the addiction as "real". That's why there's things like 'treatments' and not 'cures' because you cannot cure and addiction because it's not real. It's not a disease. It's something that someone likes to the point that it interferes with their life. But ANYTHING can be an addiction at that point.

@buugiman78 as I said, just listen to one of the thousands of hours of loveline (even on youtube) and youll see the pattern. you can ask any doctor who has treated women who have been sexually abused. they either become super sexual and need more and more arousal with many people or they completely shut down sexually and dont let anyone get intimate with them in any way. of course there are women who are naturally more sexual then others, but statistically, that rarely results in sex addiction

The term sex addict is very misleading. Most people who are a sex addict or have a sex addiction aren't addicted to the sex, they're addicted to the circumstances in which the sex took place. Some people are addicted to paying for sex, others are addicted to not knowing their partner, some are even just addicted to masturbation as a coping mechanisms, and still others are addicted to knew relationships, in which, yes, sex takes place. Sex addiction is a real problem for some people.
