@tthomaselli2 in the movie its just a coworker/buddy of martin's that only appears in this brief scene. in real life the actors name is lyman ward, also in another hughes classic ferris bueller, and plays an awsum jerk boss in 'no dessert dad til u mow the lawn.' thanks for watching!

@buffilms - this might be the first one I've actually seen or maybe even paid attention to, as it's one of those classic, timeless, movie gems that I wanted to share a specific scene with a friend - and stumbled upon this.

Again, great work - I love the editing, puts a completely diabolical twist on the whole movie... I'll check out 2001 next... :-)

@Lomotilian thank you. which scene from the orig film were you trying to find for your friend? take your pick, cuz almost every scene in this movie is great in one way or another. one of my faves, which is why i made the 2001 tribute vid as well. PTA is definitely more watchable than 2001 however, u gotta be in a certain intellectual mood for kubrick ha, cant just be something you watch any ol time.

Interesting, but why "re-carve?"

I don't really consider this a Thanksgiving movie, as you say. Thanksgiving was just the reason Steve Martin was trying to get home. It could have been Christmas, and the movie would have been exactly the same.

my tagline in the preview is 'get ready for the carving,' so its a play on the word 're-cut' to describe this parody trailer.

i call it a Thanksgiving movie cuz um its set around Thanksgiving. Yes it could have been set around Steve Martin trying to get home for Kwanzaa, but it's thanksgiving, so it's a Thanksgiving movie. I think John Hughes would back me up on this.

Holidays aside, it's a timeless classic.
