Its pretty sad that the origional windows movie maker did not come with win. 7. This version kills alot of the aspects of w.m.m. like speed up, and slow down. It also makes cropping video files way more complicated...the only things they did improve were the animations. That's about it....

How can you stretch the photo to make it show for longer. I was able to do it on the older version of wmm but cant do it on this one.

This version is a step down (if not 2) form the original Movie Maker (that came with XP). It lacks more than 80% features that original had.
But to create slideshows, it will do the job.
