@Dietpepsivanilla yep stan was part of the portland wrestling royalty which included roddy piper and billy jack haynes among a ton of others iron shiek, matt aka doink borne adrian adonis and his only face run, jesse ventura and his only face run playboy buddy rose. the list goes on and on of guys that got their first big break in Portland Oregon...

@lockenjr I used to go the "Portland Sports Arena" every Saturday night and even the "Tuesday Night Specials" to watch them all when I was a kid. Piper, Martell, the Sheepherders, Buddy Rose, Ed Wiskowski, Fidel Cortez, etc... Man, those were the good ol' days.

@GoinCreekin have you checked out legitwrestlings page on here he has all the old classics except for 81 apparently stan turned heel in portland for a short while to join the army I don't ever remember him doing that as he hated buddy. but all the old piper martell and sheepherders stuff is on here...

@BigMDS67 Thanks. We held the title for about 3 months before losing it to Eric and Pierre.  We had wrestled them to a draw earlier in the month (June '78) in Irvington, before losing the title to them in MSG. Ciao.
