As much as the Secret Service insists on any extension of protecting whoever they are assigned to, they are under orders of the so called protectee. Meaning, if the person they are protecting says to them, "please step away", "give me space", etc, they have to. That day, JFK, who was behind in the polls, insisted on an open car and every opportunity to 'press the flesh' The Secret Service protested, but, had to give in. I was in St. Augustine FL in the 90's and saw a sign that said JFK Limousine and Bonnie and Clyde shooting car. I paid my way in and then found out it was a limo the Kennedy's used in the 50's and the Barrow car was one of the ones used in the Bonnie and Clyde movie. I still want my money back.

a convertible is a car that at the touch of a button or unlatching a catch is able to conceal its roof inside its own body work-this is obviously not the case with this car-the roof was lifted off and left behind-it wasnt carried in the car so there is a difference between a convertible and a open top car

That's not the car. The 63 Lincoln Continental convertible didn't have a roof, period. Look at the Zapruder film. This is clearly a different automobile.

Why don't you look at the original Dodge Viper RT-10, various Porsche Speedsters, and the early Lincoln Continentals. All came without roofs from the factory. The 1963 Continental sitting in my shop came with suicide doors, a 430 Y block, and NO FUCKING ROOF! Learn about cars before you run your mouth and flame somebody you don't even know.
