  • realy are you tone deaf coz this twat was and is

  • I queued up for 14hrs for a ticket to this gig. Fantastic. A friend of mine from from schools had cancer at this time and could not get to the concert. Rick Buckler came up to his house house after the concert and gave hima video of the gig. My friend died not long after and he gave the video to another Jam fan who lived acros the road from him. Not only was it a great gig, it was a poingnient one. Time goes by and things like this remind you of long departed friends, but in a positive way

  • Bless you mate what a sad story. I hope your mate is looking down and blessing you..............................Long live The Jam.

  • @SaveEarthEatSweets Thats a great and sad story

  • sad thats the end

  • A 'rare' clip indeed. Thanks for that. Yes, truely thee best band ever without a doubt.

  • I went to this gig without a ticket it was my 5th jam gig ,I loved them.Got tickets off touts.Got Spat at by skinheads but to say I was there was worth it.I was deverstated they split.Best band ever.

  • yer ...i went to see the jam at the brighton center in 1979..great

but later on at farewell gigs etc..the fans were wankers...

great days back then at middle/secondary school..

little boys soldiers always was the winner..and the intro ''this is the modern world''

i saw foxton playing with stiff little fingers 2 years ago..he is still great.

  • 79 Gig at Brighton centre was that with the Piranhas?

  • yep..the 79 gig at brighton centre was supported by the piranhas....(my first ever gig)

the piranhas kept teasing the crowd playing the start of tom hark then going into another song!!...i dont think you could get away with that now!!! green dont suit me is my fav piranhas record ,,,i cant remember the debut albums name?

anyway...little boys soldiers was awesome ..the light effects made the stage look like ''no mans land''....

i was only 10 years old at the time!!!

  • It was a good gig i was with a group of mods from Haywards Heath and we got a kicking later as we missed the last train and had to stay in a car park near the seafront. Woke to the sound of milk bottles smashing round us as Skinheads had kipped in the same car park on the floor above!!

    Those were the days!!!

  • The album was just called the Piranhas.

  • i was a skinhead...

    great times..

    piranhas/piranhas..of course!!!

    cheers

  • hi ace do you know why only half of this concert exits i did hear a rumour that when this was recorded on a camcorder that the tape was accidentally rewound to the near the beginning and if i remember the first song was start ??????????????? any info cheers

  • it was start. i put a track listing of what they played on here..in order. was at concert and could not enjoy it...too gutted. also had ticket for wembley but did not go i was too angry about the split. only went to brighton cos some mates had a spare. bottle was thrown by come skinhead, but it was only one bottle..just missed foxton and they stopped playing. have the concert on cassette somewhere.

  • Went to see this with my brother Simon. Drove from ashford in a 1966 cortina. Top hose blew, overheating. Flagged down a taxi, told him we were going to the Jams Last gig and needed help. This top guy drove to a metes shop and got a top hose nfor us came back we fitted it topped up rad and got to concert on time. Thanks to you mate. Not their best but having seen them all obver had to see their last ever gig.

  • Which date was their last gig??.Thought Wembley was the last?

  • Saturday 11th December '82.

    Brighton Conference Center.

  • I was one of the 'lucky' few there - I don't think I've been to another gig where there was such an obvious tension, so it was all a bit of an anti-climax. Mind you, saw the Style Council about a year later at the same place and they really were sh*te!

  • Went to Wembley but avoided this one heartbroken - pleased I missed the bottles etc. What a fucking band. Not their best gig though. Bingley Hall is better - got that in it's entirety :)

  • Interesting to see. I'm still amazed all these years later that no official film was made of this gig. I mean, how could you NOT film something like this?

  • amazing thanks for uploading ... i managed to grab one of Ricks sticks at the end of the gig ... still have it :)

  • Filmed from the balcony by Rick Buckler's parents, or so I'm told.

  • Rarest Jam video Ive ever seen thanks! Wasn't their most enjoyable gig tho, bottles being hurled at stage etc Bruce at one point, got on the mic and spoke his mind to the crowd about respect. Shame their last gig had to be like this!
