  • doing this song in band

    tis awesome

  • Orchestra > Singer

  • i'm in a production of seussical at my school and for the exit music we (the pit orchestra) are going to play an arrangement of this song by me just for fun haha

  • if ever a movie. i can imagine being in a cinema watching and listening to this, ( wiith Ann Hathaway as elphaba)

  • The singer is not THAT bad but the essence of this YT post was for the orchestra music. NOW THAT was REALLY amazing. I wish they had just the instrumental of this.

  • no french horns in 3:02 : (

  • who is singing this

  • Why the fuck are you retards bashing her??!! She's amazing at this song!

First off, she sings in tune, she does the riffs, she does NOT butcher this like other idiot singers have, e.g Glee!

    So shut up!!

  • @boffinme80 I agree completley her voice combined with this orchextra is epic beyond reason. Especially the end. Its just plain epic.

  • @MovieGoer19 Sorry if you're a Glee fan. I just don't like Glee.

  • @boffinme80 I dont either, shes just really amazing

  • give the singer a break she was amazing i bet none of you could sing like her, chill out yes shes abit strained but to be fair your going to be outshone with an orchestra like the rpo. so just chill out

  • fuck the singerrrrr D: uggh

  • EWW! Orchestra is amazing, not the singer. Ugh, I hated "Going to bring" those aren't the lyrics!!! "GONNA". And her belt was soooo strained. Orchestra was amazing though

  • I defying gravity... *dream*

  • This is reeealy good.

  • Where did you get this accompaniment?

  • her ahhh is lovely!

  • GREAT!!!!

  • Loves it!!!

  • i don't really like her

  • id love to hear that without the singing...........just the orchestra

  • I actually loved it. She was a bit showy vocally, but she's got a fantastic voice. Her "bring me down" was probably the best I've ever heard.

  • umm. . . GraviTy is only cute when Kerry does it. And going? to it's gonna honey. She sings it like a pop song.

  • It IS a pop song!

  • ummm wicked is more a pop musical theatre show. defying gravity is a pop anthem lol dumb bimbo

  • Comment removed

  • shes not bad, shes just singing in a different context,, this is classical as opposed ot musical theatre it doesnt have to be as dramatic or what ever :] x

  • everyone should stop dissing her voice.she is really good

  • Shes a bit bad!!

  • probably better than you

  • yeah probs, but i dont sing . . . . .

  • then who the hell are you to critize her. why don't you let people like myself who actually sing critic.

  • everyone gets an opinion

  • Exactly, every gets an opinion. And, I am a musician so i can tell if people are good or not thanks. :-)

  • Can you post just the music without the vocal?

  • I was there, she was so crap. There were 4 performers for the night. 2 women and 2 men. This was the shite woman, the other woman was amazing.

  • going to ..WHAT?? come on girl! even british elphabas say Gonna bring me down!

  • This is how the orchestrations should be in the actual show :(

  • SHe sounds like she has a really bad cold!

  • This sounds like Debbie Gravitte

  • where can i get an mp3 of this?

  • itunes

  • Isn't this Mary Carewe? (Sp)

  • yes

  • I can't believe that people are cutting her down. Mary is amazing on this better than any I have heard before her.

  • Holy shit she's brilliant. i LOVE her voice!

  • I love the orchestration for this, i really like that backing music for d.g. anyway lol

  • i like this its unique :D

i think its Sam that sang this on i'd do anything was much better

but i like this version tooo :D

    x

  • sam on i'd do anything was shit lOL

  • Wow! I love this version! My fave part is the bit before "So if you care to find me.." I love it :D

  • who is this singing? its fantasticc!!!

  • Her name is Mary Carewe, I believe. I love this rendition. Her voice is perhaps a little bit too showtunesy, but she does some really great stuff, and the orchestration is pretty awesome, especially that brass in the climax!

  • Ooo, i agree with her voice being a little bit too showtunesy, but apart from that she's really good!

  • uhm... this is a showtune :/

  • I knew it wouldn't be long until someone had to say that... yes, I know. :-P

I guess I could've said it sounds a bit too "show-boaty," even for a showtune. I think it's a great performance, but at the same time the character of her voice isn't what I typically look for with this song.

  • i know what you mean it sounds like the way it'd be done at a cabaret show

  • yeah. i think what is disconcerting every1 is the character of her voice. i don't think it's as deep as even some of the elphies with lighter voices. but its still beautiful if a bit "show-boaty"

  • Yeah. Great take on the song as a very concert-y version. Great orchestration, but compared to an actual performance from the show... lacks the impact & drama.

  • i don't know who you've heard but her voice is definitely deeper than caissie levy's, alexia khadime's, julie reiber's, chelsea krombach's, coleen sexton's, idina menzel's... i could go on

  • ok. i give you that. maybe it's just me.
