Actually, although Sabah Fakhri also sang the song, it comes from Iraq and was popularized by Natham Ghazali (Nazem), though it is also older than Natham.

"Faug an-Nakhl Faug" (on top of the palm tree) is an Iraqi expression, meaning "I'm on top of the world."
