@Masowai I never knew about silicosis till you said it. I've been sucking in heavy amounts of dust for many years. I'll start being more careful. i never thought it really did anything..it's not smoke, not coal, I always just figured that dust really wasn't a big deal. Thanks for the info.

Try cutting your driveway with a butter knife...

Then think about FORCING your saw through it...

BTW i use that stihl its a cement monster, but the release for the cord sucks.

That it does. I was just using this same model of Stihl to cut a curb last week (no mask - shame on me!)

I made the mistake of killing the saw to give my hands a short break, and the pull start quit on me.

This wasnt too bad. You should have seen this one house i was in while they were building it, these guys were doing this with granat stone, ALL day, that thick of dust, about, was just hanging in the air, 1 guy had a mask, the rest didnt. Its a good idea to have a mask for sure.

yea i use that saw its a beast and you have to be really dumb to not wear a mask when sawing on an upright surface like that... sawing on the ground isnt quite as bad but on a vertical id wear a mask for damn sure

i work in chicago illinois and use y mask or osha or the union will get on my ass, at $45 bucks an hour I better watch my job but mostly my health, I highly recommend at least the mask but also a shield and a buddy of mine lost his eye a while back at another job
