I recently rented the DVDs of the fourth season of the show. I looked like the show improved significantly when Manny Cotto became the producer. The text commentary explained that the network UPN decided to cancel the show while the two-part episode 'In A Mirror Darkly' was being filmed. Ironically, that episode was deemed the best one of the whole series.
