Yes. Because they are too young to release now and it is too late for them to 'cache' their winter supply of food, I am at the moment building a pen in a garden in a small village in Northumberland which is visited by wild reds, where they will overwinter and then have a 'soft' release in the summer.
I expect they will leave me in about 3 weeks time. I shall miss them very much as they have been so entertaining and I've had them since they were 2 weeks old, but this is about them, not me!
