You don't see "clamp marks" on the skulls because babies' skulls are much softer and they tightly wrap theirs in cloth to provide equal pressure all the way around. I think they just seem bigger too because they're tall, but much more narrow than a "normal" skull. Also, intelligence level is the approximate result of brain-to-body size ratio. The issue i have with the brain cavity of the cro magnon skull is that a cro magnon was a massive, human-like, organic tank. Apparently they broke fingers much much more often than humans yet had denser bones and also quickly reset them to grow back like we do today.
I believe they had a thicker pia and arachnoid matter and I also believe they had more cerebrospinal fuild in them to protect them from brain injury caused by falls, blunt objects, etc

The first question that you have to raise to know wether they are human skulls or skulls of creatures comparable to us concerning intellectual capabilities or power of thought, mind etc. is not about shape but about BRAIN VOLUME. You don't see "clamp marks" on the skulls because babies' skulls are much softer and they tightly wrap theirs in cloth to provide equal pressure all the way around. I think they just seem bigger too because they're tall, but much more narrow than a "normal" skull. Also, intelligence level is the approximate result of brain-to-body size ratio. That's not to say that these people weren't inspired to do this by the possible body shapes of those who have helped humans get to where we are today.
