Brown cheese is freaking delicious. I'm from the USA and I visited Norway a year or so ago. They thought I didn't like brown cheese, but they were wrong. I couldn't stop eating the brown cheese... I wish it was easy to find in America (in the south)

Brown Cheese is something you need to get used to if you're not grown up with it. The taste is quite strong and might resemble some caramel'ish taste. I advice you to try it with rasberry jam on bread, it's delicious ;-)

I think it seems yucky to people that don't know what it really is because they expect it to taste like ordinary cheese. I guess it's a bit dishonest of us to market it as cheese too :P

Its actually really good, but when you're not norwegian then youll probably dont really know what the cheese ''is'' and then it seems nasty. But as Norwegian i do know what it is, and that cheese is usual to me so i like it.

It is SO GOOD. Normal brown cheese/Gudbrandsdalsost tastes almost like thich caramel fudge. Goat cheese and other more hardcore versions have a bit more bitter taste, like cultured milk, but is still very very good.

Gudbrandsdalsost is a normal household item, mild and very easy to eat. Next time, try gamalost ("old cheese) or pultost ("fucked cheese"), then we can talk.
