  • I was wondering what the sound at the end of the song was, but you can see at 5:44 that it's Neil Peart crushing his stick. Just thought it was cool you can hear it in the recording...

  • neil peart is incredible!

  • brillant song! blew my sorrow and tears

  • amaizing...great song....

  • you guys ever check out Big Time Rush? much better players

  • @SuperMrBeiber

Your joking right? All of Rush are widely considered to be the most talented in each of their fields. Maybe when your older you will get it :)

  • finally someone put up a video of this song. One of my top 3 Rush songs no doubt!!! Thank you Neilm, your perils have turned into beauty!!!

  • I can feel how hard and painful was for Neil to write that song and then play live. Snapping that drum stick at the end was the least he could do. For all of you who never read "Ghost Rider" book yet , by all means do it. What a masterpiece.

  • i want that drum kit..............

  • Didn't go to Wikipedia for this one, "dude". Mag articles said Alex sat down with the sound guys and added "extra post-production material...". RushInRio liner notes also refers to this fact. Not putting down this band. They've been my fave since '74 & I just drove 3,000 miles in 2010 to follow them to their 1st 2 shows in Albuquerque & KC. If you were "Brought Up To Believe" that extra crowd noise is NOT added to DVDs, then go for it, but, I will GUARANTEE you it was! MythBusters N.E.1?

  • hes playing with his eyes closed xD

  • How fucking epic it is that Neil breaks the sticks in the end.

  • @adrian5b - I don't think it was any sort of epic gesture. Pretty sure he just cracked a stick while playing the song and then just broke it in half so he wouldn't accidentally use the cracked stick again. Most drummers would do the same.

  • @MrJimbobarino Exactly while playing that song? he could've just thrown them at the crowd

  • Artificial crowd cheering was added to this DVD (mostly or completely DURING the song, in this case). Must be a common trick used in final production. Wish they'd just left it out. Great DVD, though. I think they do that because this song was new and largely unknown to their audiences in '02, and for marketing reasons....Wish Rush would do ONLY songs their TRUE FANS want them to play. I'd go to every show if they'd cut out about 10 of the "standards" on the playlist.

  • @waiting4guffman Dude, this was an alternate song during concerts. Saw this live myself. Where do you get your facts? Wikipedia?

  • @waiting4guffman How did you notice that?

  • Hi, Will. Listening to Never Ending Clouds.....not too shabby! As far as the crowd noise in "Ghost Rider", it just stood out to me like a sore thumb as I watched it. I've seen Rush many, many times (including this song live) & the crowd is as still as an oil painting during this tune because at the time of this filming, this song was pretty new. Sadly, I'd say 95% of the attendees, like the Pavlov's dogs they are, are there to hear only a handful of familiar tunes. Crowd noise is added!

  • @waiting4guffman Ok ok! Thanks for checking out my stuff by the way! There's a prog-rcok/psychedelic demo on my SoundCloud and Facebook page. Check it out if you want! Cheers!

  • This song makes me want to buy a bike, any bike, and just roll.

  • This song gives me chills and brings me to tears every time. So beautiful, so emotional, so powerful. <3

  • kickass song!

  • Anyone else come here because of theTaking Center Stage dvd trailer?

  • @Lerxst2113 you hit the nail on the head. awsome song

  • @libidocafe2007 i love it got me listening to vapor trails all week!

  • @Lerxst2113 it inspired me to write a new song

  • That really is a great RUSH song.

  • such ap ity they never played the titletrack of this record live!

  • @pantalaemon well they finally played presto after all of these years, we can hope

  • one of their best songs.......

  • @triuman Every song is one of their best!

  • This song reminds me of It's too late by Evermore

  • 4o\m/

  • This song is very deep for Neil and what he went through...

  • Urm, why are there washing machines being Geddy? Fucking rock stars.

  • @crabssssss I read that he doesn't use Bass Amplifiers but rather a direct plug in. The washing machines are just props.

  • @ModernvisualArts yes they are just props that he uses. He has used the dryers, a old turning fending machine and some old chicken roasters.

  • how come they never play any other tracks from Vapor Trails anymore :(

  • @OmgItsGaryBusey I'm thinking that once the new record is done, and when they tour to support the new material, they'll throw some Vapor Trails into the playlist......

  • @OmgItsGaryBusey Because many of those songs were really hard for neil I'm guessing, because the album deals a lot with his loss.

  • makes sense

  • this song sends chills down my spine and makes me feel like kicking ass and conquering every obstacle in my path.

  • This was in front of about 255,384,386 people

  • @MrJeezus No, it wasn't. Only about 50 thousand.

  • I hope this doesn't have Nicholas Cage in it... he is everywhere... and for those of you who don't know what I mean, watch nicholas cage's agent !!

  • Adoro essa música!

  • Lifeson ... very underrated.

  • the best<<<<<<<<<<<the fucking best

  • getty . ..does what he does>>>>>>>neil does what he does<<<<<alex has the passion and that is what makes rush<<<<<<did i say passion<<<<mc

  • @mattamus615 it's Geddy

  • When I look at the 'Time Machine Tour' set list I hate it the more I look at it. Nothing from 'Vapor Trails' on it. I'm a loyal Rush fan so when I listen to 'Vapor Trails' I look past the distortion. I know Geddy can still sing like this, but he is just so happy that his voice breaks. (I've seen instances where he's more focused then happy and his voice is insanely almost perfect but the differences are there still so that you can tell he's singing.)

  • 3:03 DOGMA(the movie) Jesus!! LOL

  • ... and neil busts a stick at the end ? or he breaks it himself ?

  • @bytor137 probably about his loss of his wife and daughter...this song is linked to that tragedy.

  • @neilzep I have the book that Neil wrote about that terrible time in his life; "Ghost Rider:Travels on the Healing Road" found it in a Goodwill store of all places for 75 cents! and good song, too :)

  • @DrGiggles68 Awww man, what a great find. It's a great book.

  • @DrGiggles68 i hate you, 75 CENTS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @bytor137 I think it might be a symbol for Neil...It was the last show of the tour and possibly the last time they play that song. Otherwise why would they have made a point about showing that?...

  • Comment removed

  • haha, im loving the washing machines in the background!!

  • These lyrics are the anthem for all human travelers....trouble on the road behind(sunrise) trouble on the road ahead(sunset)..nothing can stop you ((((now)))

  • Vapor Trails - excellent album. Soon to be re-released with substantial audio improvements. A hidden gem.

  • @jdseeks Nice to seem I'm not the only one who heard about the remaster. If you haven't heard the 'One Little Victory' and 'Earthshine' remixes, check them out on my channel and leave a comment. (I also did a custom remaster of 'Out of the Cradle', check that out if you'd like, but it has its imperfections.)

  • What a performance by Neil! All the intensity, the emotion... man, this guy is a freakin legend!

  • I love this song even more ever since i read Neil's Ghostrider book, great stuff

  • Un momento importante en la vida de Neil Peart, un momento importante en la vida de Rush... Realmente hermoso, amo la banda.

  • I've never seen this song played live before, since it was probably the only time it was ever included in their concert, on the Vapor Trails tour; short after Neil's return from his 'exile'. I swear, in all the performances of him alone, a Buddy Rich tribute, or with Rush, I've NEVER seen such intensity from his playing before. I mean, he snapped a stick in half after the song! What a strong individual, and a fucking monster musician. Much respect.

  • Maravilloso...aguante Rush..!!

  • isso sim é musica!
