Does anyone else see the FF coming out of the house smoking at the 5:00 mark? Inquiring minds want to know, was the FF by himself? Looks like the FF was.
the person you see wasnt alone, there was one other person from the truck with him inside doing a search. prior to the front living room taking off. our Lt. at that 5min mark was then the only person in the building working the way into the kitchen with the hand line
You must complement your driver for stopping as the truck was obviously going way to fast and the truck driver was as out of control as was the officer you see driving on the grass just so he can park closer.
Both need a suspension for recklessly endangering others!
Before jumping to a conclusion watch the video again. As for the Truck company, it appears that was not a 4 way stop. So the Truck had the right of way over the Engine. As for speed, its hard to tell from the video. But its not as if they were a blur, it seemed to be a prudent speed to me.
This situation reminds me of is the recent serious accident in St. Louis were two Quints collided and one rolled. Several firefighters were seriously hurt. The driving in this video was outstanding.
As for the officer, or fire marshal. It's safe to assume he pulled his truck up onto the lawn because he wanted to keep his truck out of the way of the incoming companies. From the chatter I hear over the radio, they are starting to set up a water supply by tagging the hydrant on that street. The fire marshals SUV would just have been in the way.
It also would have complicated vehicle placement. It sounded like two more rigs were on the way, need a place for them to park too.
He did nothing to no one, if you don't like how we drive and do things in P.A. please stay out, you should be lucky he did not hit anyone, are officer in Chester and Delaware Counties are worse then that, all from the Philadelphia Fire Department and we all know how we drive in philly, so like I said shut up if you don't like it.

I'm presuming that the explosions we see is the water coming in contact with an electrical wire.

No what you saw was the fire Melting the 10.000 Volt line, no water needed for that.

This video should be shared with ALL apparatus Engineers/Drivers as a perfect example of smart, safe response driving. WELL DONE!

Another great Vid under "Kitchen Fire Response" telling what to do in case of a Kitchen fire. (Otherwise "the effects can be devastating.")
