  • the lockers had IT because it was not choreographed by flakes on broadway!

  • When I first saw locking it changed my lil life at 5 I was emulating it! It was the carrol burnette show 1973 theywere dancing to scorpio i was hooked thats why years later i can do the damn thing the spirit is still there! poppin Chuck I got a funky feelin! Lock it up! R.I.P Penguin ( Rerun fred berry)and Greg campbellock jr. Poppin chuck!

  • Someone got all uppity at me the other day about locking and It occured to me:

Back when we first saw Locking on Soultrain, we had but 10 minutes to check out the move, emulate it, and practice it. We did not have VCR's, Camcorders (per se), and dance schools teaching it. No one was "studying" it. We got out there at the next dance and made a "SoulTrain Line" and did the damn thing. These new kids are "studying it" and breaking down each move - stepBystep and that's where they lose the flow

yo, damn man great piece of advice from an old head right here.

    thanks for sharing that.

  • DOPE upload!!! siick knowledge!!!

  • Hey Frank. Ready for a suprise? I hope you remember me. SNAPSHOT from Las Vegas baby!! Remember back in the day at TGIF's?? 1981 You and I used to "kick it" it now and then. Man I remember you and crackerjack used to come and "tear it up" at TGIF. You know I did some tearin up myself. I never stopped locking brah. Gained some weight, but did't we all? haha. When you see this stay in touch Frank. I'd like to talk to you. Robert "SnapShot" Medina (LOCKER) ;)

  • Frank. . . the "IT" that you describe that the original Lockers had is indeed something that is very difficult to describe. I'm 50, I still Lock and I was there at the beginning too. Difference is.. today, people are trying to learn locking in class, and the "feel" is different. Original Locking had an intentional clownish impetus similar to alot of other "black" dances. If you don't have that clowning feel, then the step doesn't come out right.

  • you said it right brother! That is where the true essence of the dance lies..... Moves are just moves and anyone can do moves..

  • this is pretty inspirational

  • SUNDACE!!!!!!

    AGA MISSING YOU!!!
