I'm not sure, I haven't heard of any. I know alot of the suicides occur with trains, in hopes that the body can't be recognized cause the family gets charged lots of money if they throw off the train schedule.

We didnt take a tour, but we did take a bus. If you go there go early and don't head for the shrines. Instead take one of the busses to the onsen and get off at the first stop. You'll be where we went. If you get off at the second stop you'll actually be at the waterfall. But yeah get there REALLY early to beat the traffic.
