Oh no.. I wasn't disrespecting anyone who has kids, but looking back at my ex boyfriends, they didn't love me. Some mentality broke me at times, so if I had kids with them chances are I would have been beat down and a single mom not by choice. I understand what you are saying, any child is a blessing. I don't have kids. I am waiting for marriage. Call me old fashioned, but I prefer to live that way.

I was a child of a nuclear family. I had both parents, but my family was far from perfect. However, in the end I am glad that my father stayed in our lives as the man. I guess I should phrase it better. I meant that I didn't love myself enough to make that choice, so I suppose I was really vulnerable in those relationships. Looking at my life now. My life is great as is, and I look for a man to compliment my life, not fill it, but those are my needs. If I have kids I can no longer think about my needs, they need a father. Can I do it myself, yes, but that is not my choice. i see the importance of a man in the family.

mmm...ok, yeah. I don't see it in terms of - "the children need a father" and therefore "the man has an important role in a family". I see it more as an organic thing - that if you love someone, you WANT to have their children, and there is no question whether the father is an essensial role or not - it's just as it is. The mother and father are together, each one being as important as each other to a child that is a product of both of them. Yeah, it's interesting - i might sound confusing.
