I only got a ride in a helo once, a classic Bell 47, but I've always thought that helicopters are the coolest flying machines ever invented. I love the way they move through the air, very graceful and impressive, and they can do things no other aircraft can do.

Mondo78, this Bell 47J Ranger helicopter was sold to a private owner, and is no longer stabled at Helicopters Pty Ltd, which is in the process of financial liquidation. The chopper is no longer used for commercial operations of any kind, just used for private flights by the new owner.

I took a ride in one of these years ago in Branson, MO. It was so cool. They don't have them anymore though. Was very fortunate to fly in such a great piece of aviation history.

Sorry, IN my oppinion. Seems this pilot does not know about the HV curve or understand how important it is to keep the skids in line with the direction of travel when hover taxing.

Solo flight is Ok when operating un safely, but once a passenger is in the mix the pilot is selfishly risking lots more than his reputation n air craft......

Just my opinion.

about 10/15 years ago a chopper crashed after taking folks on joy rides (Kellyville sports and rec ovals) it hit a house in Crestwood and killed a few punters if i remember correctly.

If we weren't allowed we wouldn't have. We have written permission from the local council. Owners of the reserve. That is all we require to satisfy Civil Aviation Safety Authority. The wind had picked up and we were testing various parts of the park for "eddies" or sudden gusts of wind that may have made departures/arrivals unpleasant for the passengers, prior to starting the joyflights.
