  • LSD to find out

  • i have this. it's annoying as hell. it does NOT make my life more interesting to have my own personal "soundtrack," it just makes repetitive gifs on a computer screen or silent movies really, really irritating.

  • IS DIS WHY, I CANT GO TO SLEEP WHEN OTHER PEOPLE ARE MOVING INTHE ROOM, AND I CANT THINK BECAUSE I SENSE OTHER PEOPLES ENERGIES AROUND ME. MOTION IS ENERGY AFTER ALL. IM TOO SENSITIVE . wHEN I GO OUTSIDE I JUST PRETTY MUCH IMAGINE HEARING A TREE FROM 50 FEET AWAY, BUT I CAN HEAR THE LEAVES RUSTLING AND IT GETS REALLY ANOYYING. AND I JUST CANT PAY ATTENTION FOR LONG BECAUSE IF THERES MOTION, IM HEARING IT, NOT IN MUSIC, LIKE NOTES, BUT IN SOUND EFFECTS (WAVES, CRASH, SWAY, SPLAT, RING RING, SWOOP

  • @Kuzarkit you are sensitive to proximity when you cant fall alseep, alot of people are, i am too. hearing sound effects like that from motion is a possible rare case of synesthesia, but likely imagination. try to smoke weed and then go do something like be in a moving car where there will be alot of motion, but dont focus on the motion, if you focus on something else while high u will be able to stay focused on that perticular thing, and that will keep you from noticing if you are seeing motion

  • @Kuzarkit and then as you are focusing on this other thing think of if you are hearing anything like those sound effects, but nothing that is accually happening. if you are doing something and noticing the sound of waves, look arround to see if anything is making that sound, and if not then you might have synesthesia

  • the first 8 notes on a scale i see a black hipo and it taste like licorish the next 8 is a bright tercouse stick and tast sweet and so on and so forth is that normal? if i try to explain a piece of musice like mary has a little lamb it is white as in row row row your bout it a dark blue-green and it always bugs my ears when someone is singing an e it like buzzez..and when i try explaining this people think im jokeing! am i the only one who experince this?

  • what about seeing sound? Like a computer visualizer for mp3s?

  • If I see an animated .gif of Rick Astley I hear the Rick Roll in my head. I think that's to do with conditioning rather than synesthesia, though.

  • this is hilarious, using labels like "regular people" and "Extraordinary people". When saying that you assume that they have a major advantage and others don't. I guarantee you he has major disadvantages associated with the condition you just didnt mention.

  • Sooo I am wondering, what if someone behind him waves his or her arms and he doesnt know he or she is behind him, can he hear that???

if so.. doesn't that mean our laws of physics are wrong? and that there are indeed other senses?

  • Something I've been doing lately is shifting my eyes around and it makes a sort of song.

  • I have this...im so used to all the noises I just assumed it was normal.

    In english:

Stupid people. If you would do really scientific work you just would have red some books about neurologie and not some hokuspokus-video like this...

  • I have this! I know synesthesia is a unique experience but for me I just hear motion as faint tones. Something else I noticed about my synesthesia is that the closer I see a motion the louder it sounds and vice versa. Also the higher I see a motion occur the higher the pitch and vice versa.

  • When I hear higher pitches I taste a metallic taste in my mouth...proboly not synesthesia but I want the one where you see colours floating around.

  • is this a version of it?

when im eating something, like say im eating lamb, i can hear a dog barking and smell what a dog kinda smells like

when i start imagining something in my head, i can sometimes (its rare though) see some weird things going around the room, kinda like how air molecules move around, theyre rainbow colored, and they have a short tail, its kinda like a slow, colorful huge meteor keeping in my sight

when the Stroop-effect is tested on me, i can almost instantly say the color

  • @coolguy5371

i also sorta seem to taste music, like if i hear something bad on the radio i have this bad taste in my mouth

i also sometimes get a bad taste when im bored

i can also remember something then ill sometimes feel what happened, like if i think about when i broke my hand, my hand hurts

if i think about something happening to me thats painful, some places on me will start to hurt

  • that happens if i see a repeating gif image, such as people talking and i know what they said for real. i hear what theyre saying over and over for some reason even though its only an image clip./

  • I definitely have this. I've known for years but it's nice to finally see it coming to light :) I always thought it was normal haha. When I see birds hopping on the grass I hear de-de-de-de really fast, depending on how the bird is hopping. I love it.

  • I can hear silence. It's a very high pitched noise. If I focus on it and TRY to listen to it, it gets so loud, it's actually almost painful, and will actually keep me awake if it's too quiet in the room. Then if someone starts talking to me, or if I turn music on, etc., it goes away. Does this happen with anybody else?

  • @Yotes4Life yea its like the sound when a television is turn on right? but it juss keeps going from no aparent distance or area i have that =/ fml its not bothering me im jus mad about other things

  • @Tremayn24 Exactly! I hate it so much. Just sitting here right now in this quiet room. I haven't been noticing it at all tonight, but now that I think about it, I can hear it :( At least we share the hassle and pain ..

  • I have this. <3

  • i don't know if it relates but i hear sounds from inanimate objects such as drawings. I can also very easily draw a song but I have no idea how to read notes.

  • hes going through human evolution maybe??

  • When I see hot women,

    I can taste metal.

  • One in the oven.

    Lucky guy.

  • there is a great way to use this skill, well at least i do it, videogames or and kind of game that requires timing really... btw if u want to be a ninja u have to be able to do this so if u cant give up fellow wanabe ninjas

  • I often see words and numbers in colour, which has led me to hate certain numbers since they look awful to me xD

  • Excellent!!!! He's right!! Because you can't really TYPE the sound...

  • 0:37 EPIC XDDD!!

  • I see the video and I can hear sounds

  • wow that seems cool to have

  • this "type" isn't that rare. I have met two people with motion to sound syn..then the conversation usually breaks down into a tounge in cheek argument about the color and placement of monday...

  • I can hear a muted television, even if you switch it to "AUX"... I can hear the blue screen too. Is this normal?

  • I have this too! if it is a really high monotonuos sound than it might be tinnitus. My tinnitus is caused my TMJ problems and my TMJ muscle is tight and it is located right next to your ear drum so when some TVs are turned on the waves that travel through them to produce the picture cause the TMJ muscle to vibrate which I hear. At least thats what my doc said lol

  • @mmmmmarcus as normal as poo/piss in a nursing home ;)

  • @mmmmmarcus

You don't 'hear' the pictures, though. You hear the functioning television. In a quiet room, anyone with decent hearing could hear the television being turned on and off.

  • @Muffinzeshlongun One thing i dont get is how in a silent room (actual 0db rooms) i can hear all manner of things, things that arent my breathing, heartbeat, bloodpresure and such.

  • @FreelancerAxel Could be hallucinations due to the sensory deprivation - your brain will be creating all sorts of noise (nonsense data).

  • I thought everyone could create their own picutres and sounds in their heads? - I enjoy seeing sound. its awesome.

  • I taste colors, and pain has colors and sounds. I hate a certain shade of purple-it fills my mouth up with a sickly sweet syrup. I can eat a lime and look at purple and its like eating sweet tarts...

  • there a certain pink, that gives me a really bitter foul taste

  • What does porn taste like?

  • @mmmmmarcus EPIC XD

  • @mmmmmarcus butterscotch

  • It IS possible to develop synaesthesia I think, but Im not sure whether it can be done deliberatly or not.

Im pretty sure everybody's brain is cross-wired like this, but most peoples senses do not blend as much as synaesthetes sense do. This seems to be the more sensible conclusion to me.

  • That's true. I was watching the moving dots and heared the sound, but when i realised that it's just imagination, I could somehow "control" hearing it. I could concentrate and make it so that i couldn't hear it anymore.

  • It's true! I think all people may have some mild form of it. Just try this! Draw a regular blob. Then draw a 7-pointed star. Now give each the name Bouba or Kiki. Apparently, 98% of people name them the same way. Shape-Name/Sound Synesthesia, anyone??

  • sometimes when im falling asleep and have my eyes closed i see bright flashes when i hear a loud noise outside

  • same here, freaks me out some times.

  • yea.... i always thought i was crazy when it happens to me

  • @kaizer310 kaiser you might have retinal detachment. I am not trying to troll . I really think you should get that checked out.

  • @kaizer310 ME TOO.

  • @kaizer310 omg I hope arent kiding because i do too

  • @kaizer310 wow same here man!

  • @kaizer310 I do too! I thought I was the only one that it happened to. I see a yellow flash if I hear a noise and my eyes are closed. What color do you see?

  • @kaizer310 Do you or anyone else know the reason for this? It happens to me and its a bright white flash accompanied by a simultaneous loud click or pop sound. It scary as fuck.

Does anyone know why this is?

  • It would be cool if they could cross wire our existing brains to do that :D

  • when the volume is turned all the way down on my tv, i swear i can hear it

  • Wow, wish I had that. Most of my synesthesia is mental, and I can't figure out why I see green and blue. I think it's related to my emotional state but I'm not sure. It's been happening to me for 2 years now.

  • thats not possible.....it happens from birth

  • It is possible, but I've determined that it is not synesthesia. It is actually a chemical release into my eyes caused by the focus I undergo when I meditate. Something about the state of mind I put myself into makes my body create these unique chemicals which I then perceive as the colors green and blue.

  • i meant it is not possible for it to be synesthesia, cuz it is a cross wiring in the brain, sorry x

  • Yeah, it's fine. I probably have mild synesthesia, but it's mostly imaginatory. I can even experience textile sensations in my mind, which I'm sure isn't normal.

  • when Im mad I see a 3D graphic of jaggid mountains and when Im feeling good I see a very smooth egg shape. This only happens at the end of the day when Im about to goto sleep. this has been happening since 1980

  • I can only see colors with sounds--I can see the sound itself broken into a pattern as a whole. Those beeps look light greenish to me.

  • light blue and white. very filling. has small dimensions 1,2,3, but 4 and 5 components are infinitely large. vibrating very fast.

and the flashes sound like white noise. kind of like 'whoosh' 'whoosh' 'whoosh'. the best way to replicate it is to turn on the faucet and cover and uncover your ears quickly.

  • i wonder if i can train my brain to do this

  • uhm how or where i can get tested for that? cuz i think i have it but im not sure

  • keep in mind kids. The world is a few billion years old. The good stuff in sience only happend the last 300 years. If you think we are smart now. Come back in a few tousand years ;)

  • buddy if you look at evolutionary growth advancing into the tech fields its exponential, those people might be us

  • when he was moving his hands in teh last part of the video i head DI DI DI DI DI DI.

  • imagine what he can hear in his bed

  • lmao

  • Rainbows !!!

  • Lol, all those people who doubt scientific theories (or facts) like this, and say "I should get on with my life instead" are Retards. Yes, Retards.

Honestly though, people are so used to every-day life that they don't realize how many things are left unknown and undiscovered. They are lazy ass freaks.

Cool vid, I do have synesthesia.. what should I do?

  • i have it too...you should take advantage of your "powers" hahah, i use mine for music, gives me an edge, cuz i can see colors and sounds, so music comes easy for me

  • Guess he would be rather confused "in da club"^^

  • i bet its his baby

  • Dare Devil, I have Finally found your true Identity! I should have guessed it sooner. You see with your ears so your alter ego hears with his eye's Cleaver disguise but no match for my genius muhahaha...

  • Man i want it. But i guess it can be annoying. Hearing car honking and hearing another sound to go with it. This type of synesthesia would kill new yorkers.

  • This form of synesthesia doesn't cause one to hear sounds from other sounds.

  • Just more evidence that we're pre-programmed to view the world a certain way which may not be real. Now, do you take the red pill or the blue one?

  • you can go ahead and deny your reality.

  • lolwut?

  • OMG... It's like reverse SONAR...

  • i feel happy.

  • Isn't that what happens when you take acid?

  • No, you get burns.

  • Ha ha ha... nice. I guess I left my self open on that one! All right let me refraise. Isn't that what happens when you take Lysergic Acid Diethylamide-LSD, or (acid?) @.@

  • I'm not claiming to have intimate knowledge of how Acid effects the brain, but it does blur senses together through some kind of enzyme blockage in your cerebellum. It's why people hallucinate on acid, it's the same information from the eyes, just a different interpretation by their brain.

  • awesome

  • I wish I had the ability do that.

  • Wow thats awesome.. i wish i had that

  • sometimes I can smell music, and I'll tell you that a lot of stuff on the radio now stinks.

  • ROFL

  • @nickfalzone LOL!!

  • @nickfalzone i see what you did there.

    have a thumbs up.
