PBA Bowling Cheetah Oil Pattern

I don't get why people hate this pattern.. it's easy as hell, as easy as a house shot.

the only way i am successful on this pattern is when i change my hand position and take a lot of revs out of the ball, which allows me to play right up the 5, 6 boards. When i move in with my normal rev rate, i have a tendency to pull the ball and there isn't much hold at all inside the 8 board.

@nso1256 i have bowled on 35 flat before and it is challenging! in that tournament, the ones that were successful were the ones playing straight. being flat oil, there wasn't help to the outside and there wasn't much hold either. so yes, that would be challenging lol.

The cheetah is not my pattern. Though I throw my invasion on this pattern, it breaks a lot. Plus, I haven't shot really any high games.

@royalsfanforever the outside boards are good on this pattern. i throw board 15 to 10 and usually get good scores. i got a 211 & a 220 last night

idk i prefer to play 5th arrow and deep on this pattern. there just seems to be a little bit more room for error. gotta respect the pros, i average about 210 as a cranker in league and i can maybe scrimmage together a 190 average on all the pba shots. the pros make it look so easy lol

@spazmatron1 jus depends on how u bowl i bite ass on the cheetah but ive averaged 220 on the viper all 3 times ive bowled on it and 200+ on the scorpion n shark but cheetah and chameleon like 185 i like givin it a little belly to around the 12 board and those are the shots to do it on

House Shot average is 198

Sport Shot average is 166

I Averaged 184 on the cheetah last time we bowled it

We're bowling the Cheetah next week on my SportsShot League. Looks kindda similar to the Viper pattern we're on now... Both play the outside, except Cheetah looks even more outside.

I only have 1 ball -- Black Widow Bite, so I don't have the option of using a less strong ball. I hope I still do okay :)

It is hard to believe that a 13 or 14 year old kid can average 230. Who is your coach? What kind of equipment do you use? Do you use strong or weak layouts? I'm sure being a power player, a lot of your equipment is probably drilled negative with your pin being atleast 6 inches from your positive axis point.......

I am 14 and i average 208 in league I practice on the cheetah sometimes and i am a "power player" but on this pattern I stand all the way right and play down 3 or 4.

I am also 14 and I average 225 on house and 207 on sport. On Cheetah I usually will throw a ball with a little surface to even out the breakpoint and just try to stand right and control the breakpoint. Cheetah is the only pattern I have shot honor scores on (299/820).
