Please people hear me out! I don't have nothing against 'Kelly Clarkson' of American Idol fame! SMH! LOL! But listen to "Puff Johnson's" original version of this song from the CD "Miracle" circa 1996. And tell me if there is any comparison between these two ladies! There is professional singing and then there is amateur! After U listen to both versions you tell me which one is an amateur! It's a no brainer! My ears tell me 'Ms. Johnson" is a professional artist while Clarkson is media product!
Puff Johnson's original version of this compared to Kelly Clarkson's is the same as comparing G.C. Cameron's original version of It's So Hard To Say Goodbye to Boys 2 Men. To me, Kelly and Boys just recite the words on their respective records but Puff and G.C. sing theirs with passion.
In fact this album is the best ever and all though it was released in the 90's, it is still relevent, sad that when she was here in South Africa she never released or performed.

she sings it better than the other artists I heard singing it.. even when she goes on higher notes she does not over do it and keeps the softness. Nice to see someone with a high range voice that doesn't try to kill us. :)
one of my favourites too. I think she was looked over but try listening to her Miracle album and the Keith Martin album Its Long Overdue. True classic but overlooked albums. Genius!
this is by far one of my favorite singers with an imppecable voice to produce such crisp emotions without over exaggerating and the timeless delivery of true singing...her whole album is indeed gold...she was definitely under rated because if you listen to her songs today from that album...it still sounds fresh...simply AMAZING...
