  • do you or any of the posters know how long the shelf life of this rose water is? does it need a preservative long term storage? great tutorial!! thanks for posting!

  • Very nice video. I enjoyed the music as well.

  • awesome!! will try, by the way who sings that song, i remember it but dont recall the artist

  • i make it the same way, but using a baster is so helpful, thanks for the tutorial

  • sorry I am italian,I don't uderstand one thing...the rosewater will be the ice that melts...or water that we will find in the bowl inside the pot?sorry for my answer but I want to be sure...thank you...

  • @nonsouffa The water in the bowl is pure rose water.

  • @nonsouffa Hi! :D It's the WATER IN THE BOWL, okay? That's the rose water.

  • @nonsouffa it's called evaporation go check it up.

  • @nonsouffa no dear the water from ice cubes cannot go through the lid and must be sucked by baster. . U see there was no hole or opening in the lid.

The rose water collected was the steam that rose from the petals being cooked, and condensed in the lid.

  • The music rocks makes this seem easier than it is to make. Thanks

  • @CubbieAz66 I think this was very easy to do.

  • The music rocks makes this seem easier than it is to make. Thanks

  • will this method also work for dried rose petals?

  • @lcj24 I don't know.

  • so i don't understand the whole brick thing, and what it is O.o

  • @sarahmabff

It so the bowl won't be directly in the water- the brick acts as a stand, but you can easily replace it with a canning rack :)

  • @sarahmabff I think it's just to support the bowl inside.

  • @sarahmabff So the brick is there for the bowl. As the roses and the water in the pot are boiling, the water vapor will rise to the top of the pot. When it reaches the lid (the cold lid because there is ice on top), the hot water vapor will touch the lid and condense back to liquid water because of the coldness of the lid and drip down to the middle of the upside down lid and drip into the bowl!

  • I really like this easy distillation setup! Thanks!

  • Wow... Fabulous vid. Thank you Lenise2Me. Definately going to make this. Plus this vid. is a nice drop of science. lol.

  • The method for making of rose water from Lenise2Me is the best I've seen so far to make it at home.

Thank you, Lenise2Me! And the song is also very nice.

  • Thank you:-)!!!

  • The essential oils are extracted from the rose petals and evaporate upwards to the pot lid. There, the steam and the essential oils are cooled by the ice, which is located at the top of the pot lid, and then drip into the bowl. This is fresh rose water (distilled water + essential rose oil = rosewater).

    Blessings, AraBeeXX

  • Well stated:-)!!!

  • Thank you for making this video. I've heard rose water is amazing as a toner, and I wanted to try it, but makingit myself lets me know its completely natural. Thanks!

  • You're welcome:-)!!!

  • Ok, so if the water in the bowl is just Pure Water...What do u do with the water you boil the roses in? Do u just mix that in the bowl with the pure water?

  • I used it to make soap or discard.

  • @KEKELELEtv No, no...the water in the bowl is NOT just pure water...it's rose water, as it contais all the rose's oils that evaporate and then condense into the lid. (and then drip inside the bowl). Got it? :D

  • Brilliant, thanks for simplifying this method and making it easy to understand how to do! 5 Stars!!!!

  • This video is amazing, its set out so well with easy to follow steps.thanku for the great vid, i use rosewater everyday but have to order mines from Pakistan and sometimes i think what would i do if i didnt receive mines on time, now i know i can survive and make my own. pure rosewater can be used to cleanse the face, for the eyes it soothes sore eyes,it can be taken orally for upset stomach and period pain and can be mixed with moisturisers to give extra glow to the skin.

  • I don't understand... Only pure water rises as steam, so isn't the water in the bowl pure water?

  • Yes.

  • @waynebw the water that rises as steam is distilled water (no chemicals in it, no chlorine, etc.); I think the one in the pan is simply tap water.

  • cooking? rlly tht sounds wierd. Hmm idk bout cooking. im scared to use tht in mii food..... so yea =)

  • People also use lavender buds to cook with.

  • thank you so much for this!!

but does it need to be in the fridge after making?

  • You're welcome. I keep mine in the fridge.

  • It's one of my all-time favorites.

  • love anquette!!

  • I loved this video!

  • Thank you:-)

  • Sugar Scrub video coming soon.
